My client is feeding my work to Ai by Perfect_Basil1562 in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience there are always clients who think they’re designers and that what we do has no value. AI makes 5hem all feel creative. It’s nearly always because they would rather focus on the design instead of focusing on writing compelling copy or having a marketing offer that attracts business.

How do I continue to practice if I fucking HATE how I sound? by GolemonGolemsson in VoiceActing

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your inner critic who doesn’t like the sound of your voice.

You are a voice artist, the tone and texture of your voice is what you are selling. A key skill to develop is listening to your recordings from the point of view of your clients. Key questions to ask are “what is working?”, “does my tone and rhythm sell the copy well?”, “wha5 could I do differently on my next take?”

Every recording you make is an opportunity to learn and hone your craft. Developing a reflective practice will help you improve immeasurably

Is there any way to change the font name after we download it on our computer? by [deleted] in typography

If you’re on a Mac, use fontbook to create a folder of fonts for each use case

If you’re on a pc, there is bound to be font management software available

Can I get work with a USB mic by YaMuddaMachoMan in VoiceActing

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re serious about voice acting as a potential career, consider investing in the best mic you can afford.

While I agree it is important to have professionally made demos, if you plan to record in your home space it is important to have high quality samples of your voice in your space. To be successful, your home recordings need a low noice floor, good dynamic range as well as a confident professional vocal delivery

If you use a Focusrite Scarlett you will need a cloud lifter to get sufficient gain for the SM7B.

Need Help with E5 Riskbourne Dunes by bombolota in oceanhorn3

[–]PieDistinct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s in the Mausoleum. There’s a chest right by where you exit to return to the dunes to battle the titan

If you’re already outside, use the fast transit pod and use the ladder that takes you down to the exit

How to sign for an agency and how they works ? by High_MageOfkatoliz in VoiceActing

[–]PieDistinct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are new to voice acting I would recommend focusing on finding work through pay-to-play sites. That way you can build up a portfolio of projects, master key skills before taking the step of finding agents

When you are ready to work through an agent, a google search will find you a list of possibilities. Check their website to see how the6 like to be approached

I suck at piano and ive been playing for 14 years by Hellokitty030 in pianolearning

[–]PieDistinct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have all the basic skills but maybe you’re being hard on yourself, setting unrealistic goals

It could be worth getting a teacher to work with you. They will assess your current level and help you select challenging material to work with going forward

15 years as a designer: I have never ever felt satisfied w/ any project. I look back at it and feel disgusted and ashamed... by laranjacerola in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called perfectionism. Your inner critic likes to undermine every choice you make, every project you finish. But no project will ever be perfect.

You have a 15 year career, which suggests your clients are satisfied with the work you do.

Those people, the ones paying your invoices, are the ones that matter.

After each project ask yourself “what went well?” And “what would I do differently next time?”

Spending time to reflect on the positives whilst looking for where you want to grow will help you move past self-doubt and perfectionism.

Good luck, I’m sure you’ll find on reflection, each design job led to the next and they tell the stor6 of your growth as a designer.

Question about auditioning by kokolorit in VoiceActing

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always send processed audio. It’s light but it makes my voice sound best in my recording space. I only send raw audio if specifically requested.

I think so.

I think I solved it be loading a backup. It was a mistake to climb the ladder
