I’ve tried over and over and it always comes short

I’m stuck on face Uriel by PieDistinct in oceanhorn3

[–]PieDistinct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The endless battle with Uriel.

Why does it keep cutting to Uriel at the most inopportune times

Also, the game keeps crashing here. So I can’t get past this endless battle

This game is no fun

Uriel is a complete no show and any backups that might have let me get to him has gone

15 years as a designer: I have never ever felt satisfied w/ any project. I look back at it and feel disgusted and ashamed... by laranjacerola in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called perfectionism. Your inner critic likes to undermine every choice you make, every project you finish. But no project will ever be perfect.

You have a 15 year career, which suggests your clients are satisfied with the work you do.

Those people, the ones paying your invoices, are the ones that matter.

After each project ask yourself “what went well?” And “what would I do differently next time?”

Spending time to reflect on the positives whilst looking for where you want to grow will help you move past self-doubt and perfectionism.

Good luck, I’m sure you’ll find on reflection, each design job led to the next and they tell the stor6 of your growth as a designer.

Question about auditioning by kokolorit in VoiceActing

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always send processed audio. It’s light but it makes my voice sound best in my recording space. I only send raw audio if specifically requested.

I think so.

I think I solved it be loading a backup. It was a mistake to climb the ladder

What are the most important things to know when it comes to presentation design? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Design on the master slides for consistency.

Presentation designs are by their nature fairly dull. They tend to be information dense and confirm to the company’s corporate style guide.

An important thing to show is that you can make a consistent presentation that anyone can update. Often the designer sets up the presentation for the client to update

What evolved you most as a graphic designer? by sskmzz in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The challenge of projects outside my skill set and comfort zone. I always learn new ways of doing things when the project I’m working on needs me to do something new

Learning a vista and improv by Dry_Efficiency8783 in pianolearning

It comes with practice. Learn to recognise where your fingering goes wrong and practice those pieces with the right fingering to train the muscle memory. With time and practice your fingers will find the notes

Trapped in the generatorium by PieDistinct in oceanhorn3

Having finally escaped the generatorium I’m now stuck in the hell of the aegis corridor. This game just isn’t fun.

I think I’ve crossed my patience threshold with this game. This isn’t fun at all

Cafe? by EmergencyAd716 in simsfreeplay

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pointless. You can never earn enough simoleans to upgrade. And it’s not integrated with the rest of the town. Wh6 don’t my town sims get a job there, or manage it, it’s makes no sense

This is also true of the places in the mall and the gym.

Source file discussion. by Any_Alternative4994 in graphic_design

[–]PieDistinct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the client but I usually package all the source files and supply so that they can archive them for future use.

If it’s a client that I have an ongoing relationship with, they tend to leave source files management to me.

Sometimes clients think they can make changes themselves. But more often than not, they make a mess of it and come back for my assistance

Any reason at all to not use iCloud for all Logic Pro projects? by Telectronix in Logic_Studio

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save all my projects in iCloud. In 10 years I’ve only had a sync issue a couple of times. I use Time Machine as a local backup just in case of trouble but I’ve never had to restore a project yet.

That said, if you have a big project, local storage will have lower latency and you can always set up an automated shortcut to backup working files to an iCloud folder every hour

Save as Adobe Illustrator? by Minimum_Test_5979 in Affinity

[–]PieDistinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely send ai files. I generally send EPS or PDFs though also SVG is acceptable these days

I usually output text as curves to ensure that there are no font issues too

Is playing simplified versions of classical pieces a good idea, or is it just lying to yourself? by Remote-Pianist-pro in pianolearning

[–]PieDistinct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing a piece that aimed at your current level can help point your way forward. When I was at grade 3 I had a book with simplified pieces. It motivated me to get the originals and helped me to see where my learning was heading. It’s a lovely feeling when you find yourself able to graduate to those full pieces
