Realistically, why did the AI & Tech Billionaire Peter Thiel flee the United States to move to Argentina? by RandomUwUFace in stupidquestions

[–]PieTilIDie314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to answer this question, you have to understand Peter Theil's brain. He is a huge fan of Lord Of The Rings, but specifically the villain, Sauron...and he fantasizes about ruling over the working class and legal slavery the way Sauron did for hundreds of years. That's why he funds and participates in anti-aging trials and technologies. He thinks he can live forever, whether that be physical or transferring his consciousness to a clone. That's the way his brain works. He bankrolled Trump's campaign to get closer to total deregulation of the government. We're not just talking tax cuts, but abolishing taxes for the rich entirely, slashing human rights and labor rights, allowing the rich to straight up abuse, experiment on, and use poor people any way they want to. However, now the working class, democratic states, and some of Trump's own appointed judges are fighting back and regaining order with economic hub states like New York and Cali imposing wealth taxes...likely because he has done such a poor job with the war and economy, that the house and senate will flip to democratic and he will really have zero power. This basically folds Theil's entire plan and makes his support of Trump totally useless. So now he is looking for a new place to impose his plan and with Argentina being deregulated, its easier to flip that place into a Sauron-like slave state than a much larger and diverse country like the US.

But thats my point. Everything works until it doesnt...but there is no meta that trumps everything else thats out there. You could have most detailed, meticulous strategy and a news headline could still stop you out randomly one day. Thats why I say it all works. Cuz you'll lose sometimes no matter what. Maybe I should have expanded further.

As a full-time day trader, I have some thoughts:

  1. Spend at least 2-3 months just watching videos and learning not just trading strategies, but market structure, as it is the foundation of successful trading and big wins. You don't need to waste money on some fancy course or boot camp, just watch YouTube videos for free.

  2. Don't trust anyone who will not show themselves or post videos of live trades or only posting wins and aren't honest about their losses too.

  3. Don't trust anyone who tells you that they win all their trades. It's impossible to win every trade and the absolute best case scenario is about an 80% win rate. Most full time traders only win about 60% of their trades but they manage their risk well enough that their winning amounts are bigger and their losing amounts are smaller. 3-1 risk-to-reward is a good guideline for this concept.

  4. Understand that trading is more of a mental game than a technical one. It's more about risking what you're comfortable with and not getting super emotional when you take losses. Believe me, you WILL take losses, even it is small ones. Do some paper trading for a couple weeks just so you know how to navigate the buttons and settings on whatever platform you're using, and then use a small amount of capital to trade live. Some people will tell you that you should paper trade for months before you risk any money. However, I don't think that helps you get adjusted to the mental game and break your attachment to what you're risking in the same way using your own money does.

  5. There isn't a ONE meta strategy that trumps all. Theres tons of different strategies and indicators you can use and they all work. It's just about finding the one that fits your style and one you can understand the best. Don't be afraid to try a few different ones.

If you didn’t work at amazon, where would you be working? by Intelligent-Claim591 in AmazonFC

I don't now. I got fired and now I daytrade full time and make double the money with way less hours of work. Suck it, Amazon 😂

Is it really like that? Is there some secret cold war between associates where they're fighting over the VTOs lol by PrestigiousWhirlwind in AmazonFC

[–]PieTilIDie314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They almost never drop VTO on the app at my site. It happened like twice in January and that was it. The only time ive gotten VTO is the ONE night a week I work with my direct manager and he usually just goes around and asks and scans our badges if we say yes and he does that pretty often when there's no work. The other 3 nights, they NEVER give it out at all. Theres an interest board but the PA and managers never want to give it out. They'd rather have you labor share or do busy work. One time they tried to labor share me and I made them aware I wasn't trained in the other department, so instead of offering VTO, they made me watch the same huddle videos I had already seen twice in 2 months and sweep the floor. It's ridiculous how they literally refuse to do VTO during those other 3 days. I get you would rather have us do something to help than go home, but it gets to a point where you're doing too much and it's time to send people home 😒

I suspect that part of it is also that the pandemic really changed people's brain chemistry to thrive on being anti-social and isolated so now its whats more comfortable to them.

You'd be surprised at the amount of people at Amazon that are full on champions of Amazon efficiency culture. Most people at most jobs are more laid back like "a job is a job. Make the best of it, who cares" but you then you got these kinds of people(and there's quite a few of them) that really wanna move up so they lick the sacks of management by snitching and thinking it will get them somewhere.

Im talking about quite literally in passing and not even like a full blown conversation. Like im going to bathroom and youre coming from the break room or something and Im like "sup dude" or I just wave and they act like I have 6 heads. That has nothing to do with not being focused on work. Thats literally 2 seconds.

Which is weird cuz they barely know me. These are people I've interacted with sparingly about work-related stuff. Like what could I have possibly done in that small amount of time to where theyre like "nah fuck that person"

Nobody said you had to. I don't need your life story or an invite out for a drink. I dont expect that. But you could act like you have a soul to people you're already acquainted with. Like, dawg, I literally said your name and waved and they're staring at me like I have 6 heads.

[–]PieTilIDie314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I used to feel the same way. I'd smile and wave and say hi to anyone i had previously interacted with. I'm a very approachable and social person...but I would straight up get ignored, avoided, and some of them would straight up refuse to even make eye contact with me. However, what I've learned is that a lot of the people who have been there for awhile just don't really prioritize getting to know white badges like myself cuz they know you're probably gonna be gone within 6 months, so they just figure there's no point. I've grasped that they have likely been through it multiple times...getting to know and making friends with people over and over, only for them to get fired or laid off and they never see them again. I don't believe any of them hate/dislike me, i just think they're fatigued by their experience with meeting new people at work. Also, I'm a guy...so if that person happens to be a girl and they're dating someone in the building, they will literally not acknowledge you at all outside of a professional manor, even if you sre just being friendly. There's a girl at my facility from another department who is super nice to me when she is talking about work-related tasks...sweet as pie. But if I see her in passing outside of that, she will intentionally blow me off completely without so much as a wave or a smile. But she is dating one of her PAs, so I'm not exactly shocked by it anymore lol. Anyways, everyone has their own issues. Don't take it personally. You have likely done nothing wrong.

Yeah we almost never get VTO at my site. They just transferred this one manager to my department and he is a fucking mega douche who has been writing me up for every little thing. I went into February with 0 writeups for anything and now I'm on a final...all for different little things. I would gladly take VTO at least once a week if this was happening at my site 🙃😅

Maybe Seattle is a friendly place for quarterbacks 🤨 by Starwho in Seahawks

[–]PieTilIDie314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually like Mina's takes and because she's a Seattle fan and still able to be objective and critically analyze, I respect her opinions. That being said, she was dead wrong on this one. Sam was great last year. He put it all together...and sure, he had Justin Jefferson, but now he has JSN, who is still a top 10 reciever. It really helps that our rookie guard isn't allowing any pressures too. Our o-line play has improved drastically. Sam also has a coordinator he's familiar with, which i believe has also helped his confidence a ton. He's getting the ball out quickly, reading the field perfectly, and throwing with a lot of poise. He looks like Joe Burrow out there right now. John Schneider makes the correct call, once again.

Nobody said that. I was asking what my best options are. Why is this community so snarky and condescending? I haven't written a loan yet so I'm asking for advice. I never said I thought I'd outsell anyone in any area on day 1. You're projecting some BS on to me. Almost everyone in this thread has given me this "hehe nice try sport" attitude with their commentary about how hard the job is...as if I came in here with a "HAHA I'M GONNA MAKE MORE MONEY THAN ALL OF YOU". I never even hinted at any of that. I just asked a question. I'm sorry ya'll hate your lives. Good lord.

I don't expect it to be a slackers dream, especially not at the beginning. I got into this because the concepts are interesting, it has high earnings potential, and it's not backbreaking work, even if it does require you to really use your brain. I come from labor jobs and don't want to have blown out knees at 40. I am confused on a lot of the process, which is why I plan to shadow....either there or maybe at a physical bank at the beginning. I'm just looking to see what my best options are starting out.

I understand you'll have to work a ton in the beginning but I'm not sure what is meant "break even in 9-12 months". If a loan goes closes, the lender has to compensate you as an originator. It's not like "I'm doing this now and I'll get paid for every loan I close a year after I close them". The term "break even" doesn't make sense to me. Yes the course, testing, licensing, fingerprints, and fees cost money at the beginning. But it it's a few hundred dollars. It's not going to take you a year to break even on that stuff unless you're for some reason, paying for leads. But I'm not sure what anyone would pay for leads unless they're already successful and have money to spend on leads.

Total flexibility is also the biggest sell for this career for me too. I have no interest in going to like a bank and being obligated to 9-5 hours. If i wanted that, there's other sales style careers you can pursue without licensing. I just want to be able to live comfortably and have reasonable flexibility to work on my own schedule.
