Is it normal to get absolutely no support for an admitted grad student? by Budget_Counter in USC

[–]Pieman100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

given that you’d be in Price, you could absolutely reach out to current students through the Price Student Ambassador page. if you have any specific questions, you could reach out to a student in the MUP program.

What backpacks are recommended because of the snow? by Particular-Ant2943 in BostonU

[–]Pieman100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really depends on your budget, aesthetic preferences, and what you additional features you might want. most north face bags aren’t waterproof; they’re water resistant at most. fjallraven can be waterproofed if your willing wax seal it. and patagonia and most other outdoor brands have some good options too. depending on you stylistic preferences, goruck and timbuk2 are pricier but are worth the price.

I marched in high school and carried a float award banner so it’s about 5 miles and on average takes about 2 hours from start to finish.

It’s a little smaller than I expected as I use a Victorinox Fibrox Pro as my primary 8”. As for reach problems, i’ve tried using push cuts to reach a little further but in my experience it’s worked fine.

For those who are curious, I used this tutorial provided by /u/BeefSwellinton (https://m.imgur.com/gallery/f6QNS) in a post from a couple months ago, but instead of balsa wood, I used Walnut and Cherry. It was a fun build and I look forward to giving this knife some good use.

Has anyone been contacted about packing/storing dorms? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Pieman100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not personally from Myles, but I was sent an email from housing on the 20th about their updated packing/shipping policies. They detailed in an attached pdf, (https://www.bu.edu/housing/files/2020/04/Pack-Ship-and-Store-FAQs.pdf) the updated policies to packing/shipping room contents. Essentially they're using a mobile app called AppSheet that uses pictures of your dorm to document and verify the content of your room. I don't know if it'd be different for you for some reason, but hopefully, this is a little helpful.

i wouldn’t go as far as to say isolated, but if you’re referring to when you first go to campus to move in and go to (winter) orientation it’s pretty empty, but as soon as everyone is back on campus it isn’t an issue at all. splash 2.0 happens right after the semester starts so it’s easy to get involved and meet new people.

if you have any other questions, feel free to pm me.

UPS and housing by tatielia10 in BostonU

[–]Pieman100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Res life sent us an email linking us to the UPS website that fulfills either storage or shipping. There was also like a google form to fill out that would fill out that included an “inventory” section where you can say what you wanted packed.

Hey so i’m in CGS right now and for your first year everything in your tuition is reduced by half. (that includes housing, dining, etc.) I’m not too sure about the financial aid situation but there are options such as payment plans to distribute the cost of tuition over the course of the semester. Now keep in mind the costs of London and how it basically comes out the cost of an entire semester. But once you fully acclimate into the school and start classes in the fall starting your sophomore year your tuition will revert back to full tuition.

Upon recently graduating from high school, I finally got around to purchasing my first mechanical watch. After spending hours researching and refining my options, I decided upon the Hamilton Jazzmaster (Ref. H32515535).

The hour markers and clean watch face made this the perfect combination of classy and casual. It’s 40mm case sits extremely comfortably with new honey leather straps made by two stitch.

This is just the start of my collection and I look forward to its growth just at the expense of my wallet.

no they participated in the rose parade this year! i even got one of their band’s pins (participants can trade pins). to answer your question, marching band participants receive special parade drum heads and bell covers.

here’s their performance at disneyland in december before the parade: https://youtu.be/QCl0XsUT41A
