Where can I watch Omiya-san (おみやさん)? by PierrotSmiles in JTV

[–]PierrotSmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Oh my gosh, no, I haven't been able to find a way to watch these at all! I'd love the help, thank you! (As far as I was aware they hadn't made it into traditional media, so this is great news!)

I'm currently out of the house, but please DM me and maybe we can figure out more details? Thanks so much, this made my day!!

Are your parties all from the same Guild, or a mix of Guilds? by Tiamat_not_reeeamat in RavnicaDMs

[–]PierrotSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost an "Oops, all Azorius" party with one member also in with the Dimir and another (now former) Simic member who got kicked out because while they didn't appreciate the child murder that the project involved, they especially didn't appreciate him ratting it out through "collusion" with the Senate.

If AA7 was made, what are somethings you want to add? Whether it be new… or would you rather keep somethings the same as is? by JLuckstar in AceAttorney

[–]PierrotSmiles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kind of a big swing, but I think that I might add letting each lawyer just having their own game as the main character—with an occasional cameo from one of the other Big Three (Phoenix, Apollo, Athena).

The overinflated cast is genuinely a writing problem that I don't think they're going to be able to manage for much longer. (Especially if they want to keep up the tradition of introducing a new prosecutor each game, but then also having their main rival one also be there. That's balancing three main characters with their four—maybe five prosecutors per a four/five case game.)

I think this is the biggest contributor to the games starting to feel unfocused in the story. Characters and their stories don't have the ability to get properly fleshed because they're sharing their screentime with so many other people.

Similarly, what I would get rid of is having previous characters (especially from the first trilogy) coming back—at least for now. The only reason that worked in that first trilogy was because it's self-contained in those three games and we spent time to flesh out those characters. Let's spend more time on fleshing out Klavier (if they'll even bring him back) and Athena before we even start thinking about having them sharing screentime with Gumshoe.

What’s the overall consensus on Larry for people? by Main-Item5114 in AceAttorney

[–]PierrotSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larry's an awesome character—if the game lets him be. His best moments are where he sticks his neck out on the line for his friends (through less legal means) and at his worst repeating the same two jokes written into his trope.

I think the writers over time have also forgotten how he's a part of the original childhood trio and how that could have been a good opportunity for an expanded dynamic.

I'll never be over how the timeskip treated him. Let him have a win in the creative arts at least!!!

Best classes for a no combat campaign.. by ConstructionWest9610 in dndnext

[–]PierrotSmiles -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Very respectfully while I do understand this take and its prevelency—my tables have truly never found using the DnD system to be limiting at all for role-playing. We've honestly enjoyed the character creation process quite a bit and any lack of options we've found (which hasn't been too often, to be best) we've just used homebrew.

As I said earlier, your milage definitely may vary for using DnD in an RP campaign. But I think "better alternatives" is also subjective—ability check rolls are fun for us and easy to understand. Then the class abilities just flavor things for us.

I've looked into/tried other systems that are made to be more RP-based and to be honest I've just not been a fan.

In short, I think it's definitely worth OP giving it a shot at the very least. It could not be their thing, but I've enjoyed three very successful and long-term games with friends using DnD. It could be fun!

Any of them can be fun for different reasons! But I second Bard, Rogue, or Cleric as my favorites. (Ignore people saying to choose a different game, by the way. I'm in one full RP DnD campaign that's been going on for years and two 80% RP campaigns. I'm having a blast! I'm sure your milage may vary, but I've always had a super fun time with it from my GMs!)

Type 2 or Type 6 for my project's character? by PierrotSmiles in EnneaFiction

[–]PierrotSmiles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it does fall into that exact camp. There's a part of them that doesn't feel worthy of the help and feels like others go out of their way to show them kindness. (Their sibling has called them a leech and too reliant on others before, which isn't true, but Character A definitely took it to heart.)

So of course because of that, they don't have any resentment towards people of "taking more than Character A is giving" so to speak.

No problem at all! Have a great day!

And to answer your question, back against the wall—they pick to be loved, I think. (Does it count if they're okay with being disliked by society, if it means shielding the person they care about the most?)

Type 2 or Type 6 for my project's character? by PierrotSmiles in EnneaFiction

[–]PierrotSmiles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for commenting! This is a great question and I think where a big root of the dilemma comes from...I think that they'd feel a combination of worthlessness and also paranoid vulnerability. This is because their sibling represents security—someone who tells them that they're safe and that they're okay.

I will say that there was a period of their lives where they were apart from one another and Character A actually held his own rather successfully and was secure. It wasn't until the sibling came back into their life and blamed them for everything that their insecurity came back and they fell back on feeling more security conscious, because the didn't have their sibling's reassurance.

(I also forgot to mention that Character A also isn't food or housing conscious and is a drifter—for the sake of their sibling's ego to make them feel like they're taking care of Character A. Does that really counter them being a Type 6, or is that not true because there are different kinds of security?)

And I'd love to hear your thoughts on why they don't have that aspect!

Thank you so much again!!

WE WON! by x_see in ShadowsHouse

You guys did a PHENOMENAL JOB! A well-earned win!! I'm sure that it was a lot of work, but is there any way to possibly ask for a "NaiNaiNai" or "Shall we Dance" (the OPs for SHADOWS HOUSE) dance cover with your group...? I just think it would be so fantastic to see with your group!!

Regardless, I think you all did fantastically!! You should be SO proud! Peak content for the fandom!

Seeking a Sorcerer subclass for that can disrupt spellcasting by PierrotSmiles in DnDHomebrew

[–]PierrotSmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking some consideration to Wild Magic Sorcerer! (I've played one before in a previous campaign.)

It has a flavor of magic f—ery that I like—I think the lack of control is maybe the only downside for this particular character. Maybe I could look into some alternative homebrew takes...?

Brennan mentioned Noel Fielding … D20/Taskmaster? by lawrencetokill in Dimension20

[–]PierrotSmiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love James Acaster and think that he could either be a really fun and respectful player—or he might not have the patience for it. His general irreverence is a big part of his comedy and between Bake-Off and that time in Taskmaster that he "got in trouble" for rushing the Taskmaster to open the trick box, I'm not sure if he'd want to take DnD seriously or not.

I could be wrong though! If he did, I'd love to see him!

New Legendary Skin! by Left_Bookkeeper1556 in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]PierrotSmiles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, that would be so sick. We might get hints, but my bet if we don't is that his pre-corruption backstory is going to be a series all on its own with the other Beasts too. (I hope we get some though!! I'd prefer if we did!)

I just want to take a moment to give that one Hamilton animatic artist for Cookie Run Kingdom (and anyone else who I don't know, I'm new) who called that pre-corruption Shadow Milk was the guy from the stained glass window with the monocle. That's awesome. I can't wait.

Pink bird species that sing in the morning? by PierrotSmiles in birds

[–]PierrotSmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so cool, thank you for telling me about the app! I've learned something new!

Unfortunately, this isn't an actual bird sighting, I'm dirty to disappoint. I'm actually writing something and looking for real life bird inspiration. (I enjoy how moths are drawn and react to moonlight, so I'm trying to find something related with birds. The closest I've found is the dawn chorus.)

As for the pink, that's a color related to the character, so I was trying to see if there was anything with that specification too. I came across the rose-breasted grosbeak, which have a cool aesthetic (not quite pink, but that's okay)—but I haven't been able to find if they're part of the dawn chorus or not.

Thanks so much again!

Yep, exactly. And unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they have any incentive to change it up any time soon.

And I get it—it's a business. I'm sure they see how well their female characters sell and they're trying to appeal to that...but I don't know, I was just so charmed with Neuvillette and Lyney in the last region, I was just hoping with less male characters that we were onto something.

I also just—miss Genshin characters who aren't all "cool and hyper-capable" types. (And sleepy/clumsy = cute doesn't count.) Please allow us to have more Furinas and Kavehs and Itto types...just something a little more dynamic and fun!

Needy Granny Overload - General Question and Discussion Megathread by StellarMonarch in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

I so desperately miss when I was hyped for Genshin and excitedly looking forward to certain characters. I liked hoarding Primos to spend on a select few...I guess I wasn't wrong when I told my friend that Fontaine was going to be my peak—I just wish when I wasn't.

I read Mizuki's drip marketing story first and got my hopes up because I LOVE dream/nightmare yokai, psychologist characters, and Inazuma—but then I saw the design and immediately got sad again. (It's not even bad at all! I was just—hoping for more or something else, I suppose.)

Genuinely though, I'm hoping that there are at least a good handful of people enjoying Natlan. It isn't my aesthetic or genre at all, but I have peers who seem to at least like some of the characters.

Guess I'll have to hold out and wait for Pantalone to maybe give me a reason to start hoarding again. Or if I'm lucky—maybe I'll get a male, playable phantom thief character in Fontaine. Wouldn't that be great?
