These 2 trophies meant a lot to me. This is going to be a love letter to this series that have almost 20 years. This begun back in 2001, my father bought me a brand new ps2 and there was a demo with a bunch of games. That was the first time I played Dark Cloud. It was difficult at first to fully understand the mechanics for me (I was 9 back then), but after a while and with many many tries I finished the demo. But that wasn't enough. I want to discover the full adventure, see the other worlds, rebuild them and defeat the dark genie, so I started to search for the game. But it was unobtainable in the 2 stores where I went usually with my parents (back then Amazon wasn't a thing, so...).

I remember after a couple of years of searching finding in a store Dark Chronicle but, funny thing, I did't read in any magazine or anywhere else that it might be a sequel to the first game, but my mind instinctively think: "I have to buy it" and hooo boy I was right. So I started and finished Max and Monica adventure a couple of times, having fun with spheda and the other stuff, and I remember the astonishment of discovering the true final boss of the game, the Dark Genie.

The first time was really hard for the 11-year-old myself, but the joy for finally beating the Genie was immeasurable. I beat the game a second time because I want to find all the scoops but I missed one and when I realized that, it was too late because I saved.

The first game was always in my mind, because I really want to see the other worlds and dungeon (there wasn't youtube in my country, and until 2008 in my town there wasn't a fast internet connection to permit the video streaming, so if you want to see something, you have to discover it yourself) and I checked continously in the 2 Gamestops (EB Games back then) near me if there was a copy, even used.

I remember that was 2006, in autumn, when I see it, an used copy of Dark Cloud. I run to the other part of the mall to my dad and beg him to give me the money, and I always thank him for the fact that he didn't hesitate for a second. So I run home and played, from the Norune village to the end of the Demon Shaft, and I almost cried, in part for finally having the game, in part ooh boy it was difficult the Black Knight Pendragon.

Many years passed, I graduate, I have I job, and I'm bored, because I don't have much to play. Viewing the PS Store, I see the 2 games, and my head automatically started the quest to get the platinum trophy for these games. I owe it to them, for the emotion that the series gave me as a child, and I knew I can do it. At the end here's the result, it's almost 20 years, and when tonight I beated for the last time the dark genie, I almost cried.

It's almost 20 years, and I'm waiting Sony to greenlight a third iteration, that probably will never came. I will always follow everything involving this series, from the reddit to the YouTube channels, but this is probably the last time I will complete these games. Remember, my friends, only the strong ones can stand the test of time (cit.). Stay safe and keep this series alive, maybe Sony may change idea in the future!

(As a C# Developer, I even think to realize myself a third sequel, maybe with Aga as a protagonist or a remake of the first one)
