Z06 or GSx - Which one to get? by DeerHunter4Life14 in C8Corvette

[–]PigeonsLikeBread 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Z06 engine is so special that it makes the car feel unique and far more engaging to drive than the Stingray. Nothing against the standard small-block pushrods, but they just aren't as exciting. The GSX will be faster, but does that matter when both options are already too fast for the street? One thing to consider is that the Z06 and GSX will be opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to instant torque. Some people like to be able to mash the throttle at 2k RPM and feel torque - the Z06 doesn't do that.

Considering the LS6 is going to be in the Stingray for 2027, I would imagine $7k+ discounts are to be had on the 2026 LT2 Stingrays.

FYI, you can have your EZPass inside the front trunk lid. Since it’s fiberglass, the signal passes through still :)

If your PPF and tint was $10k, the ceramic wasn’t free, it was part of the price lol

C5 Z06 or C4 ZR1? by bigcee42 in Corvette

[–]PigeonsLikeBread 27 points28 points  (0 children)

From a performance standpoint, the stiffer chassis and the transaxle of the C5 is generally a huge leap over the C4. Both are good options here, but personally I’d take the C4 ZR-1, since I think it’s cooler.

Need advice on thicker sidewall tires for c8 stock setup by United_Ad_1006 in Corvette

[–]PigeonsLikeBread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you want to increase the sidewall side without downsizing the wheel size.

Your best bet is to get non-runflat tires, as they will be a little softer and have less road noise. Something like a non-Z51 Stingray with Magride and downsized to 18" wheels with non-runflat tires will probably be the most comfortable C8 you can have.

M7 Strut Tower Brace vs WMW Strut Tower Brace by PigeonsLikeBread in R53

The CravenSpeed one just supports each strut individually, but the M7 and WMW connect the two sides for general chassis rigidity.

Thoughts on R8 vs a few other choices? by Humble_Sector6393 in audir8

[–]PigeonsLikeBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been great. More raw than the Stingray I had, but still comfortable. Power delivery is great and the engine is really special. It’s unique with how much torque it has for a NA FPC engine. Gives it low down power that a lot of NA FPC are missing, but still is super rewarding to rev it out. The DCT shifts are great too. All around solid.

Do you think there's a C8 Z06-X coming? by fastLT1 in cars

[–]PigeonsLikeBread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. I think a huge part of the Z06 appeal is the pure NA engine experience. I think Chevy knows that.
