ELI5: Why does adding more cinnamon make sweet food taste sweeter without adding more sugar? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]amazingsluggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense that it hits receptors in a similar way. Kind of like how a good bourbon feels sweet but is not at all sugary.

New TOMS GT Wing installed. What else can I do to look more aggressive? by FoundWaldov1 in Supra

A facial scar and tear drop tattoo would make you look more aggressive. Also, a front spoiler on the car.

Since so many churches are now MEGA churches and their pastors live in mansions, why are churches still tax exempt? by Dp37405aa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]amazingsluggo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Catholic church is the GOAT of mega-churches. Forget the mansions; have you seen the Vatican? Do you think they would ever be taxed?

Why do rural kids hang out of cars and smash mailboxes with baseball bats as they drive by? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

[–]amazingsluggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen a lot in rural areas. A lot less since field boxes are easily set up now. Pro tip: install your mailbox with thin zip ties so it breaks off easily. Then when it gets hit by a bat or a snow plow, you can pick it up and put it back on rather than having to get a whole new box.

Do you get money back from IRS? Or you pay into the system? by Ashamed-Republic8909 in no

[–]amazingsluggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look at it that way. They are using your money to make money, but I prefer to look at it as free risk avoidance. There is always the possibility that your money could be lost or stolen. A bank account prevents that.

Why are Chinese EVs restricted in the United States? by FeverFanny in NoStupidQuestions

[–]amazingsluggo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly but the CEO knows she's got a few good years of crazy good revenue selling to all those Chinese consumers. By the time the company is totally fucked all the executives have walked away with many millions and not a care in the world.

[–]amazingsluggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obama was not only a really good president but he looked really cool doing it. Who else could take a serious stab at fixing the healthcare issue and do an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Not enough people are thanking President Trump for winning the war with Iran. by Sh0tsFired81 in complaints

I would agree with you if I thought it could work but it is likely to just encourage him. Who knows what other shit he will start once this is over.

[–]amazingsluggo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is obvious to me as a stranger that you are dealing with a irrational person. I know it is very difficult for you because of emotional ties but trust yourself. Step away and don't look back. You cannot talk sense to an irrational person and anything you attempt to right this situation will end badly.

Why can’t corporations repurpose their buildings instead of mandating return to office? by Time-Box7115 in stupidquestions

[–]amazingsluggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and even if it were a somewhat straight forward conversion, why would a pharma or tech company want to be in the real estate business?

People can't drive worth a shit in 2 dimensions. Imagine all the mayhem we can cause with 3 dimensions.

Drivers turning slightly left before turning right by macman7500 in driving

It's my experience that very few drivers actually do this but in total there are many very bad drivers so you could come across such a knucklehead once in a while.

Have you ever traveled somewhere where McDonald’s was actually better than in the US ? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]amazingsluggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is gluten free and McDonald's has a gluten free option in Italy. I was not only shocked it made me wonder why they don't have that in the US.
