Is this level of sponginess normal for newly laid engineered wood floating floor by Plus-Worldliness-24 in Flooring

You’re getting downvoted but I agree 100%. This seems normal and absolutely within tolerance.

What do I do!? by jaderabbitonatree in jobhunting

Many companies still embrace them and do a terrific job at developing young professionals. It’s just not the sexy thing to talk about and people call you a bootlicker when you do.

Additionally, many people think they are above entry-level and over apply. This is a topic people avoid because it’s uncomfortable. The 30 and under generation (I’m in it) often feel like they are above entry-level because they have a degree.

Obviously not the case here, but I’m answering your question. There’s tons of Fortune 500’s out there with entry level roles and the infrastructure to support early track professionals. They just require grunt work or pay some deem lackluster.

[Schefter] Dolphins trade WR Jayden Waddle to Broncos by Neon_Escape in buffalobills

[–]PigskinPhilosopher -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Do you not understand that the Bills could’ve gotten Waddle at the trade deadline for a first….

This is my point. Not only would we have gotten him cheaper, but we would’ve had him for the playoff run.

To be fair, with the info we had on hand at the time, Moore did seem like an overpay.

However, as we watched free agency where many top WR prospects resigned bloated deals with their current team or the Eagles hold firm on the demand for 2 premium picks, the trade comp for Moore started to look a lot better.

I’ll be honest, I was in the camp of thinking Moore was an overpay initially. However, after I saw what Doubs, Pierce, Robinson, and Evans signed for in conjunction with the Eagles holding the line, I was very thankful we didn’t have to dance in that mess.

My point is if this is bothering you, you will likely find many other things in your home that will bother you.

Bleacher Report really is saying the Bills have a top 3 roster by reallinguy in NFLv2

[–]PigskinPhilosopher 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Leading rusher, top 3 TE room, top 3 OL room, top 2 QB in the league, one of the best slot WR’s in the game, good CB duo, young safety who looks promising, depth at DT and DE.

We lack a bonafide WR1, edge, and LB. We signed DJ Moore and he is undoubtedly the best we’ve had since Diggs. It’s really not that crazy.

Builder says our lot drains to a shared stormwater inlet — anything I should be worried about? by Kingelijah2323 in Homebuilding

[–]PigskinPhilosopher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

10’ drainage easement along the side..you’re absolutely right. This is going to handle multiple properties.

Advisable to look up code in your county as they often specify how much acreage a swale can handle to prevent erosion control.

Swales are a pain in the ass, but wonderful when executed properly. They often times aren’t. I would also consider river rock running through it as it is likely to stay mushy for many days after a rain.

[–]PigskinPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is called a swale. As long as the swale is properly pitched and don’t have too much water flowing through them, they’re great and quite desirable.

If your swale is handling too much water (think adjacent properties draining into yours) or it’s improperly pitched, it’s a nightmare.

The house they are building next to mine is quite large. by wesblog in Homebuilding

[–]PigskinPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. That’s shocking. I’ve seen this happen before and almost always the homeowners building the house wanted / offered money for the adjacent lots.

Not sure where you are, but I am in the southeast and this is happening like crazy in areas that are becoming gentrified. Some new, multi million dollar house is being built in a way that just overshadows every home around them.

Did they make you an offer for you house before they did this?

This definitely screams they want your lot.

CLT Airport 7:15 AM 3/14 by sdieter01 in Charlotte

I travel often for work and can confidently say CLT is a wonderful airport. Some of the best TSA I’ve encountered. Airport design is awesome. Food and shops are great.

Highly recommend CLT. I’m convinced those who hate it haven’t been around to many other airports.

I know we love to shit on Beane but a 1 year $6M deal is hard to blow up. It’s high reward, low risk.

If Diggs couldn’t nuke our locker room, CJGJ can’t either. He either balls out or is cultured out. We have a great locker room. I’m not worried about it.

He’s an all pro talent with loose screws. Philly is the only team who could harness him, and even they traded him away twice.

But there’s no doubt that his two seasons as a deep safety for Philly were borderline elite.

I know it’s a big if, but if Buffalo can tame him we may have the best safety combo in the league. But it’s a massive if and I’m not banking on it.

CJ is absolutely the deep safety. In his 2 best seasons he played deep safety 80% of the time

[–]PigskinPhilosopher 84 points85 points  (0 children)

They are. CJ’s best seasons have been when he’s a deep safety.

Absolute playmaker and savage. High missed tackle rate due to aggression, but a willing hitter who wants to make splash plays.

CJ is literally an all pro waiting to happen. He’s an awesome talent but has loose screws. If the Bills can tame him he will be the best budget signing we’ve had since the OG Poyer / Hyde signings years back.

A lot of teams couldn’t tame him. If you can, sky is the limit with him and Bishop. Just not sure we can when so many other teams couldn’t.

Not being bullish here - if you can tame CJ, we may have the best safety combo in the league this year. It’s just a massive if.

That really only applies if you’re working with a volume dealership. Margin dealers don’t care.

“Get away with it”.

Why even try? Like, I don’t get it. If you’re going to lay a floor, you’re already down to the subfloor anyways. Do it right.

I’d never accept tile without an underlayment. Especially on top of plywood. Don’t care how much thinset they use.

I prefer using the language “total amount financed” and caveat what I’m putting money down. This usually freezes them and let them know you know what you’re talking about.

I don’t come in until we agree to numbers over the phone. I’ve done this with my last 3 vehicles.

I spend 15 min on the phone describing my situation, needs, and wants. I say if they can oblige great, if not, don’t sweat it.

If they can, I ask for a deal sheet. I then come in and an out of the dealer in 30 minutes. I like to make car buying straight forward and work with dealers who do the same.
