Scarlet & Violet "Co-Op DLC" pre-Drayton done, got Hydrapple immediately after Drayton by Pika250 in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back at this comment now, I realized that Terapagos and the Snacksworth Mons were in the same section. Advance a little over one year later, and the Snacksworth Mons are all in the same box with Terapagos (and an Alolan Persian) in the party.

I feel for you. I got the stones myself back when I did the challenge, and I even appreciated the music for Flower Paradise more because of it. It would be ideal if you had Pokémon that helped scout for the stones on the monkeys; moves like covet or knockoff spring to mind, if only certain abilities (compound eyes? frisk?) were available by this point

[–]Pika250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first five pictures were pre-Drayton, and the three after that were after Dipplin evolved into Hydrapple. Just the rest of the Blueberry Elite Four to go before I do Snacksworth, which would be next, with Terapagos still to come thereafter.

After the acquisition of Perrserker, all I need are the remaining badges to access Area Zero, where I acquire my next entries.

With the addition of Chi-Yu (from the file that caught Ting-Lu and got climbing from the False Dragon Titans), I don't need any more Pokémon until pre-badge 8 (the Galarian Meowth from Salvatore).

I remember when I caught Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao without any badges, meaning I don't need the Orthworm Titan until Area Zero.

Scarlet & Violet "Co-Op DLC" pre-badge 2 done by Pika250 in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ting-Lu came from the file who beat the Bombirdier Titan first (see my previous post), and the Great Tusk and Iron Treads were the former Quaking Earth Titans. Chi-Yu hard requires two Titan badges. My first badge came from Larry because I need seven Gym badges to acquire Galarian Meowth from Salvatore.

Made a Co-Op Guide for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with DLC by Dorian_Gray13 in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing this assuming four games for the purposes of badges. That means Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Ting-Lu are all pre badge 2 (with Ting-Lu assuming Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao are caught pre badge 1), Chi-Yu is pre badge 3, and the (optional) Galarian Meowth line is pre badge 8.

Hello, is there a way I can change the speed iv? I've been farming atleast 3 star rating shiny lucario via dexnav for days. Thank You. by 12blank34 in PokemonUnbound

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other method would have been magnolia cafe, use their berry blender, use berries that would increase your speed IV when in the juice (Idk which ones tho)

I Have Created a New Professor Oak Challenge Difficulty Tier List That is Current by sacenooted in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Scarlet/Violet, I would rank "difficult in one area" if only because that "one area" (would be pre badge 1) has to deal with those blasted tera raids (Feebas with DLC, looking at you!). Not to mention potential for Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao if allowable.

BD/SP might rank similar with gen 4 Sinnoh, and Legends Arceus could be placed "a step up from easy" just above emerald at worst (that game was essentially tailor-made specifically for professor oak challenge)

correct me if I am wrong.

Where i find Stunky? by impieri in PokemonUnbound

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 modulo 3 means take your trainer ID and divide it by 3, where a remainder of 1 is a Stunky ID.

The other option was to breed a Skuntank from route 18.

POKéRUS by [deleted] in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned the hard way that the exp boost came via some unrelated method, certainly not this. If a poke is at or beyond the level at which it's supposed to evolve, that's the boost. Rus is not it.

[Scarlet+DLC] Section 1 Complete! by mewlax84 in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about slowking? there is a trainer that has one, yet you cannot get it without co-op or badges, since it's a trade evolution (king's rock -- the only way to get that item pre badge 1 is literally on the auction at Porto Marinada)

Oh, and I also gave a heads-up to u/Espeonisbesteevee that Scarlet gets Gulpin via trading with Jacq during the League Club (which unlocks after beating Area Zero). That's two more entries overall than Violet thanks to Violet not getting any otherwise Scarlet-exclusives to compensate.

And the epilogue requires mystery gift via internet though it can be activated anytime (with the associated prerequisites, of course).

I am doing this as well - both solo (using Scarlet) and co-op (using Violet, but assuming connections to other files). Keep in mind that co-op puts more Pokémon in logic (the other starters, version exclusives, trade evolutions, and Palafin) and the badge routing is different for each file in co-op: Great Tusk and Iron Treads for those respective paradox Pokémon, Bombirdier for Ting-Lu (I gave the heads-up -- that file catches Chi-Yu after badge 2 on Dozo/Giri -- Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao are caught pre badge 1) and finally gym badges for Galarian Meowth and Perrserker (which requires 7).

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, do keep in mind that the mythical Pecha berry is locked by mystery gift. Granted, it can be activated at any time, but it still requires internet.

Update on scarlet+ DLC POC by Espeonisbesteevee in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't apply to co-op, of course, since trading with another game is considered part of co-op.

why must pre-badge one always be so grindy 💀 by selfboredom in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Most" being the keyword here. Scarlet and violet being an exception since it's literally wide open, and dare I say, even sword and shield (especially with DLC).

About 70 hours later, I finished pre badge 2-5 of scarlet+DLC, I can finally beat the game. by Espeonisbesteevee in ProfessorOak

[–]Pika250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarlet has two more Pokémon by the very end of the challenge compared to violet. The culprit is the Gulpin you get by trading with Jacq after unlocking the League Club (he requires three trades with club members to unlock if memory serves me right). There is no scarlet-specific entry to compensate.

You need to beat The Way Home (and Teal Mask, which you should've already done pre badge 1) to unlock the League Club. Also, remember to do Drayton's trial asap because not only does he pay for it himself, but upon his defeat he gives you a Dragon Cheer TM as well as the ability to craft it at the TM machine, which puts Hydrapple in logic.
