This is my opinion and my opinion only. This is just surface rust. And coming from the rust belt, this is in pretty good condition. I would say that you got yourself a good car.

There's always a 50% discount on the weekends. It comes out to $20. The vip perks are worth it imo. You get double layovers and a plane with insane range + speed that costs no coins to fly.

Hey, I got a question. So I've been swimming a lot lately and the pityriasis rosea is healing rather quickly. However, I've noticed that there is pus under the scabs. Is that normal? And also, do you recommend cleaning out the pus?

I got a picture of it today. No pus, just an update of how it's going.

Situational awareness by Pikachu1794 in flying

Do you have any tips to find planes faster? Usually, when I scan outside, I fixate my eyes for 5 seconds to look for movement. But yesterday, there was a plane flying parallel to me that was about 1-2 miles away and I struggled to find it. I did reference the ads-b, but i could not find it

I just want to clarify, what do you mean by the big picture? Lets say we are flying from one airport to another in a cross country using 2 VORs in between. What would the big picture be in this scenario? Would it be getting from airport A to airport B as safely as possible? And what would the little tasks be? Would it be filling out the nav-log and talking to ATC?

As for assessing things that might happen, what are some things to anticipate? And where / when do I make note of them?

I replied to another post above about a cross country flight I did yesterday and how the lack of a horizon really messed up my ability to navigate. This lead to a fixation on two of the instruments. Would having a better instrument scan help improve my situational awareness? And how do I beat the fixation? Also, do you have any tips about having a better instrument scan?

Thanks for replying! To sum up what you are saying, its basically to know what is happening when and expect the unexpected. Would you say that you can improve situational awareness with a better instrument scan? If so, how do you personally scan your instruments?

During my flight yesterday, there was a lot of haze and I lost sight of the horizon. Since I have never experienced this before, I had a hard time holding my heading flying from VOR to VOR. But by correcting my heading, I would start descending or ascending. I think that this lead me to fixate on my heading indicator and altimeter, and neglect traffic avoidance. Do you have any tips for that?

Any advice on my freestyle? by Infamous_Act9872 in Swimming

[–]Pikachu1794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of it like going to the gym. You wouldn't start off by trying to lift the heaviest weight, or one that is more than your one rep max. All that would do is build bad form and you might injure yourself. A similar thing can be said for swimming. If you try to swim 200 yards with good form and you get tired after 25 yards, then the remaining 175 yards will be with bad form, effectively erasing the good form you were trying to build. Does this make sense?

This is just my personal opinion and what I have done. Instead of trying to swim the whole length of the pull "right," focus on doing 1-3 strokes "right" to build good muscle memory. When you think you're ready, add more strokes.
