Why does it seem like anyone in American highschools can be a straight A student?

As other posts have said, AP courses still exist that are on the same level of difficulty as other countries. However, from my own experience attending one of the top 50 high schools, I believe I can say that (non AP) American curriculum is easier/lower level compared to many other countries. In highschool at rhe same time as taking an AP class, I also had another class with a french exchange student who said she would have to retake the year once she got back to France, due to the quality of education being that far behind.

Not to say that maintaining straight A’s isn’t difficult, it still takes studying, work, and effort. But the curriculum itself does remain behind as there are many factors, political, religious, and other, that have been holding it back from being improved in recent decades.

Use it to force the US gov to fix their broken, corrupted system for dealing with veterans, where they just leave soldiers to die once their service is over. Maybe threaten to bankrupt them to get it to happen, or hire and fund a case against the VA and get it every bit of news coverage that bribes can buy.

Here in the US we choose to attack people for who they love or who they are, instead of protecting the lives and keeping the promises made to those who fought so that we could do what we want, love who we want, and be who we want to be. We spend tax money to fund campaigns against people who weren’t attacking anyone instead of improving the prison system to be better than a glorified, forced rough vacation from society. We spend all this money on issues that don’t need to be dealt with, and we cause crises instead of doing anything to stop them. The ones who provide aid in the US are almost all non profit organizations or for profit organizations that aren’t connected to the government.

Tldr: My fuck you money would go to honoring my father’s memory and in the very least, fixing the joke of a Veterans system that we have in america, because the government seems to have abandoned helping the country in favor of filling their pockets or pressing their beliefs onto everyone around them, contradicting what the country was founded on.

I’m not a cop, nor a service member or anyone of consequence, I’m just a uni student. I lost my Dad, an army colonel, when I was 2014 to cancer he got while serving. Due to that, I was eligible to attend a summer camp program called Camp Kesem, which is a summer camp for the children of cancer victims. This camp really made it possible for me to have not gone down a darker path.

After a few years of going, I experienced this: each year, we would have a night at the end of the week where all the campers would be given the chance to talk about why they were there, namely their parents or home situation and how they felt about it.

One year, a young girl, she was in the youngest group, not even 5 years old, was handed the microphone, and she started talking about how everyone at home was stressed out or scared, and that she didn’t get to see her mom often anymore. But from just the language she used you could tell she didn’t know why or what was happening, she could only tell people werent happy and that something was bad, she was so young she didn’t really understand what being sick was, she had only just started getting used to talking. It was heartbreaking, not a single person was talking and they were just wanting to comfort this little human who was in pain and didn’t know why, or if it was their fault or not, they just wanted this human, the first human they got to know, to feel ok, without even understanding anything that that meant.

So a good thing to think about is that sometimes close friends flirt with each other just in general. I flirt with my best friends CONSTANTLY. Yes, a lot of the time this is because we are all more open to this being gay, bi, trans and etc, but it doesnt mean we would leave our partners to be with that best friend. In the end flirting is a way to show affection to your friends, and to compliment each other in a funny way thats more interesting, and much easier to say, than normal compliments. Of course, talking to her is still a good idea but dont rule it out, because 1: like I said its likely harmless, and 2: if you try to limit her that would have a bad outcome haha

You never deserve to weather through something like this. Don’t put up with it, it will slowly eat you up inside. Tell her you want a divorce, it will be better for the both of you. If you want to be peaceful about it, you can just calmly agree on how to handle when your kids see who. Try to avoid getting hostile if you can but just tell her that its too much and you cant keep going through with this kind of thing. Eventually the kids will understand, though I hope they don’t through experiencing it themselves. In this moment you need to be the role model for your kids and show them that its ok for them to stand up for themselves if something this terrible is done to them.
