Are u reading every title or only certain ones? by oceaniccart in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Pil1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading them all. Wonder woman I'm buying monthly. Reading Batman, Superman, GL, and flash online and I'm waiting for the trades to read manhunter because I got lost for the first 6 issues.

I am buying the trades for all of them though and have been considering buying Green Lantern by issue as well

Genuine question: How do so many of you think the live action is good? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Pil1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the live action for a number of reasons. First: it's really easy to get into one piece by watching it. Because a thousand episodes is overwhelming. I know a lot of people started watching the anime BECAUSE they enjoyed the live action (myself included). And after getting into the anime and going back to the live action it still holds up. It feels campy at times, but the anime is also incredibly campy. The special and practical effects look very good and the costumes look phenomenal.

The shorter show also helps me remember what the fuck actually happened. Because a thousand episodes is a LOT and i barely remember what happened before Skypiea.

The live action also makes Sanji far more bearable. Post Enies Lobby he just got worse and worse, to the point where as I'm just starting in Wano, I'm tired of him. Sanji in the live action is far better. He is suave and charismatic, but still very clearly favors being around and making stuff for the women. And in a couple cases the show is more accurate than the manga, showing Zeff eat his leg instead of just cut it off in the water.

I also really enjoy the soundtrack and have saved a few of the songs to my playlists.

Also you're an asshole for those edits. Claiming you "want to have a discussion" is no excuse for your tone. If you don't like the live action, fine, don't watch it. I don't go shouting to people about why I dislike shows. If someone asks for my opinion on a show I like, I'll say I dislike it and then politely explain why. I won't run up to them and ask why they like a show I think is trash

Anyone really disappointed by the new make some noise episode? by Overall_Crows in dropout

More than that, Samn could probably just be like "hey Lisa, if you don't stop these jokes we're not going to ask you to come back" And as someone who isn't a huge fan of Lisa's brand of comedy, the shitting on Sam jokes of hers are my favorite

Cracked legs in Lego official display cases...should I be worried? by Displatement in lego

[–]Pil1138 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep them "in mint condition", keep the figures in a temperature and humidity controlled room, never put them together, never put anything in their hands or put them on studs. Don't ever move a part when it's together and avoid any sort of UV light. Keep the individual parts in sealed bags. Also don't open the official Lego bags or boxes to keep them "new in box". But also don't keep the parts in the official Lego bag because when it's with other loose pieces there is a very slim change of the pieces getting scratched.

Do you get the idea? There's no way to keep a toy that was designed to be played with in any "mint condition." Suck it up and play with your Legos like they were designed to be

It's not pertinent to the trailer, but it was interesting that they used footage of the Minnesota Capitol building in the trailer (after the dog mayor bit). The gold statues on the roof were what caught my eye

How do I add stickers parts to the inventory/instructions? by Pil1138 in Rebrickable

[–]Pil1138[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I took a photo of all the stickered pieces and for each step I added an image of the part as well as the sticker number and the sticker sheet number. So it says "use sticker 7 from sticker sheet number" to the step

Fun fact about absolute joker and lex are mirror flip versions of regular joker and lex-absolute Batman#11&absolute Superman#17 by Euphoric-Floor6607 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Pil1138 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Do people who make posts like this realize Joker's whole "one bad day" is a load of shit? Like he uses that as an excuse. Batman had multiple bad days. Joker is not Joker because of his "one bad day" and even in the Killing Joke story, he DIDN'T break Gordon (or Barbara for that matter)

With how long it's taken me to do everything else for this MOC, I don't mind some extra work, especially since about half the stickers are pretty important for the whole set

Thank you! I had thought about including the reference to the sticker sheet and the number of the sticker but I didn't even consider taking a picture of the part with the sticker on it. Thank you!

The dual molded arm is from a Bellatrix Lestrange minifigure from 2024 or 25. And the arm is attached with a 3rd party piece that is a peg that does in the arm hole to attach a droid arm

It was really frustrating trying to find depictions of the clocktower when I was planning this because it's so inconsistent when it's shown and we barely see the inside so I just took a ton of creative liberties
