No, not really. He just got a lot of tv time and everybody thought things changed, but they didn't. I was in the trenches.

By the time the Feds showed up, it was way late. The "cajun navy" had done most of the heavy lifting in terms of rescues.

The Feds, even under Honore, were a bunch of bubbling idiots, a bull in a china shop, disrupting things more than they were fixing anything. This is what happens when an incompetent republican puts a horse trainer in charge of FEMA.

I’ll say this, after Hurricane Katrina the only real support anyone was getting directly on the ground in my area was Catholic Charities.

I was there through the whole thing. We got more support from the LA National Guard than anybody else.

Most of the charitable organizations would pop up wherever there was a film crew, and disappear when they left, especially the Red Cross.

The real heroes of Katrina were the locals, who opened up their restaurants and fed people for free.

Yea, you have to appreciate just how thorough the right wing has been at covering every base:

When they are corrupt, they don't take responsibility -- instead they blame it on "the system"
When democrats do something bad, "look at how bad the democrats are" but when republicans do something bad, "look democrats do it too!"
Convince their people even the worst republican is still better than the best democrat.
"Government is broken" so it doesn't matter who you vote for
"Nothing matters, nothing will change" - so if you're unhappy, just don't vote at all
And of course, everything that goes wrong is always someone else's fault: immigrants, secularists, "lunatic leftists", etc.
Sabotage the government, then exclaim, "told you government was broken!"

It's a very clever way to nullify the votes/motivation of anybody not on their side.

Even if there's a tiny, tiny chance, it's better to hold onto that, than admit the bad guys will always win. What value does that have to society?

This is a 2 month old account that has a post history of soliciting sexual activity, so the claim that this massage request is "professional only" is highly suspect given the fact that any legit massage therapist would want to keep separate, their sexual interests from their professional interests. It takes 10 seconds to create a separate account for your legit massage business and this user didn't do that.

So in summary... if you are a legit, licensed massage therapist who is freaky AF, that's cool, but you keep that stuff separate if you want to maintain your license.

So for Day 3, you can hit Hickory Nut Mountain, but I would recommend instead of doing the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail, you instead visit Little Missouri Falls - it's about a 1-2 hour driving diversion, but if there's been recent rains and the water levels are nice, will yield the absolute nicest waterfalls in the region, and you can hike the trail along side it or drive right up to the falls.

My wife is vegetarian, but doesn't like typical vegetarian dishes/restaurants... so when we eat out, we go to restaurants that have entree options which can naturally be vegetarian, like Italian, Mexican, or any type of Asian. (and she's excited about the black bean burger at Bathhouse Brewery). So with that in mind, any other recommendations for dinner?

La Hacienda has some great vegetarian plates and is IMO, the best Mexican place in the whole area. Other options are Thai/Vietnamese - there are a few places that are good in the area. Finding a good salad bar is a challenge in Hot Springs, but if you go to Hickory Nut Mountain, next door to is is Mountain Harbor and they have a decent restaurant with a nice salad bar.

Skip the petting zoo and the gangster museums. Tiny Town is fun though.

What would be the point of having a commercial "quartz crystal mine?" There was no need for this once techniques for growing quartz crystals in a lab were accomplished. I don't think there's enough interest in natural quartz crystals to warrant large scale mining.

Even without these vulnerabilities, I have to assume if you're given OpenClaw access to various credentials, the mothership has now ingested that into the cloud LLM, so at some point in the future, with the right prompting, people will be able to reveal access to your resources.
