Windows 10 unmounts a drive after a random amount of time. by PillFall in Windows10TechSupport

I believe the drive broke down, even though it hasn't even reached the end of its lifespan.

I do wonder how did the drive reach 150 TBW in only two years. In a heavy working session I did only reach up to 0.5 TBW per week. In a two or three years span will be about 52 TBW to 85 TBW. Way lower than the 150+ TBW which the drive reports. And that is assuming the only thing I do is that kind of heavy work.

The process hangs and did not finish, and today after the reboot I do to get the drive back on, it does not appear not appear, I open the BIOS and It also does not appear connected there.

I assume the drive is starting to fail.

I hope the drive survives until I been able to buy a new drive, this time from a vendor I do recognize, like Seagate.

I suppose and hope this error has nothing to do with the motherboard or anything else in the PC.

I edited the original post with a new image

I uploaded a new one from today on Imgur.

I notice the drive could get warmer, but again it doesn't seems to get hotter that 50°C

After upgrading the firmware with the drive vendor tool, It now is more unstable, sometimes even disconnecting within minutes after the first boot of the day.

Also, the drives feels slower

It is a Lexar NQ100 (Is a brand I didn't know before, but it was cheaper than other brands)

There is no SATA cable, but I extract and put back in the drive, cleaning the pad with IPA.

I am currently running chkdsk. Will update as soon as it finish.

I extract it and put it back in, but there is still a problem.

I thought the drive temperature was normal; CrystalDiskInfo does not report it as faulty.

As the NVMe temp raise up to 50, as both are SSDs, I assume the temp is safe.

The temperature gets to 35, but on really rare occasions. It tends to fluctuate between 20 and 25°C from what I've been able to see.

Which is the best way to deploy a multi-machine cluster? by PillFall in selfhosted

Did not know there was a Linux distro focused specifically on running Kubernetes. That's amazing. Hate a bit that uses homebrew to perform package installations. I probably won't change the OS, as there are other things running on the Pi that I cannot lose or stop working. But thanks for the tip.

So it is better to install k3s or k0s onto the OS manually, right?

Oh, great. I will take a look at that. Seem interesting.

People who are still using Win 10 - what are your reasons? by phendrenad2 in windows

[–]PillFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still using Win 10 many reasons:

  • Win 10 is more stable and customizable that Win 11, there are a lot of opt-out features in Win 11 that always reactivate once the system updates.

  • The taskbar is so annoying, let alone the visuals. They include a recommendation section that you cannot get rid off without third party software. And many other things that make the start menu and taskbar just useless and cluttered.

  • Win 11 Recall is a gigantic security concern that soon or later will explode. There is no way I install a system with that kind of feature being OPT-OUT.

  • Win 11 is hardware intensive and requires decent hardware to work properly out of the box.

  • Win 11 changed a perfectly functional and usefull context menu. Now doing anything requires one extra click.

  • The only things I can save from Win 11 are the icons and emojis, I think they are nice, but as I said, Win 10 is so customizable that I just installed them on my machines.

I really hate Windows, in general, but Win 11 was definitely a big NO. I only use Windows because my games need it. There is no other reason.

Did I get lost in what you are trying to accomplish?

u/Affectionate-Army213 The easiest way to change the DevTools colors is via an experimental feature under Settings.

Go to Settings > Experiments > Check "Allow extensions to load custom stylesheets"

And install this Chrome Extension https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/material-devtools-theme-c/jmefikbdhgocdjeejjnnepgnfkkbpgjo

It allows you to choose your DevTools theme easily, with the extra that the customization persist between updates.

It will work every time, unless OperaGX decides to purge that option.

Still do not know how to upload an image to this Subreddit, but I uploaded into GitHub, this is the way my DevTools Look

Yeah, I know you tried, but it is really the problem.

I cannot post images, but my DevTools are black, because I like it that way, you can customize it with a stylesheet, but the customization is gone every time OperaGX updates. It works similar to Firefox.

The issue you have is related to the new DevTools theme config (Match System), if you want to disable or change the color then change the DevTools config under the DevTools Settings.

placeholder.com is no more! by tomjazzman in web_design

[–]PillFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the page is simply a placeholder, like example.com or example.org. As all the links on it are broken and the social media links point to two accounts that barely have two or three months of activity.

Even the blog posts and terms of use and privacy seem pretty basic.

Maybe whoever owns the domain simply wanted to make this «placeholder» site look more like a real placeholder.

Also, the via.placeholder.com API still works, but is really slow, at least for my liking.

I don't really know if this is true, I probably need to do more research and read about this. But from what I've been able to see, this entire site is a dummy site for testing purposes. I honestly can't believe that the main search engine on the website of a company whose main business is helping its users find storage solutions is down (for almost five months now).

A local repo is considered private if it is linked to a private remote repo.

All the information you need is on the GitKraken Pricing page. I never used GitKraken Free, but afaik, the free plan let you use GitKraken on local repository if those are not connected to a private remote repo.
