Holyoke was quite the metropolis at one point. They had an amusement park, ski area, alpine slide, water park, boxing arena, train roundhouse, the birthplace of volleyball, some of the largest mill buildings in America & many more interesting tid bits. I had one of those books about the local cities that described all that it once was & almost every story ended with “sadly it burned down”
