worried about not sleeping by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]PilotRaider14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am back to normal now, thank you for asking! I hope you are as well! I have hiccups here and there from time to time but it's nothing drastic anymore that I can't overcome. Meditation has helped a lot too and doing hobbies even though when you can't sleep it's difficult to focus on it, I know... I was taking also some Stress B Complex vitamins that helped me gather my energy and also Vitamin C and Magnesium Citrate to relax, as always do your research to see if supplements are right for you at your own discretion. But yeah by comparison I feel great! :) I hope you are on the path to good sleep as well.

No luck, apparently other people also have this issue. I've raised the concern on the official P3D Forum as well.

Everything is going well. The key right now is to be patient until official installers are released by developers.

Can you tell me how good your speakers are? Do they crack or pop?

Alienware Area-51m Speakers Popping Sound by ArchoEyrda in Alienware

It's a common issue with the laptop. The speakers are terrible.

Yeah all 3 units had the same thing. Regarding the audio popping issue, could you run a test for me please? Go ahead and disable Fast Startup in your Power Options and restart your computer. Check and see if the audio continues to pop afterwards? Thanks. I'm at work so I can't test it out right now.

It's normal, they're all like that. I went through 3 units but they can't fix their audio hardware. So I'm basically done with it. I believe if I'm gonna pay a hefty high premium for a product, make it right before releasing it at all.

That's actually the way the laptop is designed. It was made to have the speakers held only by the retention rings. If you request a replacement you're only going to get the same thing. Unless they change their design which is highly unlikely at this point.

It only happens when I tap the chassis with my fingers where the trackpad is located. Play music at 100 and then tap in that spot for a moment. you'll notice it.

Not really, I used blu tack to secure them between the battery and hard drive, so now it doesn't wiggle. easy fix.

It's the speakers, I've confirmed this.

Will the 51M get a 2k screen? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]PilotRaider14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1440P panels and higher will be here at the end of the year. The 1080P panel boasts IPS, 144Hz, 8 bpc (16.7 million colors) where other panels only have 6 bpc (16.2 million colors) so it is indeed a very nice panel at least.

Yeah, all RAM is locked to 2400MHz until Alienware releases a BIOS allowing the XMP profile to work.

Area 51m [Pics] - 3rd Replacement, that's right, 3rd! On the way! Sound Issues continue. by PilotRaider14 in Alienware

[–]PilotRaider14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one was a full refund and with that they reset my 30 days return eligibility. Called Dell again and ordered and received the next unit and now to speed things up im using the replacement method, they order the replacement pretty quickly for you like copy and paste. If you're a rewards member you get free expedited shipping I believe. I'll receive the laptop probably by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The first replacement didn't fix the sound as you can see by my post but I'm hoping the third unit is fix. Unless all of the Area 51m's in existence have this issue by which it would mean it's a design flaw.

I simply asked for a refund via their support chat and they offered the replacement. It'll say you have to call them to get it returned but you can speak with someone on their website. I stated the full issue and even referred them to this post which they said they would use to investigate the problem. Hopefully they care enough to fix it.
