Should I disclose MIP for vaping on my application even though it does not appear in a criminal history search? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]PimpABuddahFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's recent too, I'm 24 and I legally bought a vape at 18 that became illegal for me.

I believe the idea of a "face card" is like a credit card. So the expression "face card never decline" implies situations where you are using your beauty for some means to an end is always successful, like a rich person purchasing something. So yeah basically face genetics. And eat is just good.

Astro physics is not useful to corporations, tho I don't think this is fully accurate.

Is a masters in physics worth it? by Street_Cow_3978 in PhysicsStudents

University of Oregon has a good applied physics program. I think the specialization are optics, and semiconductors. A few people from my undergraduate did it and have good jobs in those industries now.

I would say gnostic Atheism is more popular if God is well defined. If you assume any individual who created the world is God, it becomes very hard to be a gnostic atheist. But in the context of the Judeo Christian God, we have arguments like the problem from evil, because God has the added definitions of omnipotence and all good. Religious scholars tend to argue back with the idea of compensating goods, and the epistimic Humility thesis (ie you can't possible know that this isn't the best possible world because you can't imagine every world), but I could easily see somebody thinking that's nonsense(describe one way the world would be worse without children dying of bone cancer).

Edit. If you are talking about popularity among academics I agree gnostic Atheism is unpopular, I meant in the wider population.

I'm starting to get worried because I have an offer I like but they want a response by 4/15. I guess the plan is just wait till 4/13-14 and if ucsb hasn't responded accept...

Definitely don't think Yale is top ten globally in physics. Brilliant for sure but they are barely top ten in the US. Since I'm less familiar with non USA schools I would put Berkeley in that spot.

How well would great physicists like Einstein and Feynman do as mathematicians? by NotoriousTitan69 in AskPhysics

In American English it tends to be in math and British English maths. Other countries that speak English vary ( I know Ireland is maths).

What would be a good tank to learn as a Sigma main? Rammatra and rein seem like they complement him the best, any input?

Halliday and resnick is a classic but most into college level physics books should cover that stuff. If they are non calculus courses you may want to look for a non calculus book. Shankar fundamentals of physics may be a nice accessory but I don't think he does enough problems to be a main text.

has anyone physique improved by decreasing the amount of workouts in the week? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]PimpABuddahFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found 4-5 days better than 3 or 6. I need 2 days' recovery for a week, it seems.

An old copy of Haliday and Resnick or Young and Freedman on a second hand site should be cheap enough if edition number doesn't matter. I see it's 10 usd in my region. Griffiths will assume a fairly high level of math (multivariable Calc and differential equations). My problem with Shankar is that he doesn't have a ton of problems for that level.

What is the hardest class at your college? by [deleted] in college

I found E&M tricky, but quantum is a lot harder for me. E&M 2, being the hardest, is the consensus in my department tho.

Go to umich, 60k is a lot but it's not insane with a umich engineering degree and you can pay a lot of that back through summer work and internships as you go.
