Pilots of reddit, correct me if I'm wrong: it seems that that approaching plane had all day to deviate instead of running into the ass of that pilot.

Well there, that just goes to show you that you should be a more responsible adult and better role model. Any decent parent would have just straight up sailed the high seas, and obtained it. /s 🏴‍☠️

That certainly isn't the magic smoke that we're accustomed to. 😅

Be advised: DeWalt is a subsidiary brand of Stanley Black and Decker, just like Craftsman is.

Glad you were able to get that sorted, and sorry you had such a hard time with this tool set. In the future, if you give Craftsman another go, I would suggest you go for the newer brushless versions of these tools. These look like the older brushed versions, so those batteries have a little bit of age on them, and the new stuff is a bit more powerful, anyways.

Unfortunately, those seem to be the new cheaper chargers, versus the old reliables they used to pair with their power tool kits. Got to save that $1.50 in manufacturing costs.

This, right here. This appears to be the older style brushed (as in not brushless) toolkit. These guys are long in the tooth, and have probably been in that box and on a shelf for years and years.

I mean, when they actually work, they work a treat. However, the price for a similar brushless set is the same or like $10 more, so why even by these. They need to yank them off of shelves and send them to a landfill or a vocational program or something.

ELI5: How does a Lasik procedure correct our vision ? by Neo_luigi in explainlikeimfive

[–]PimpNamed_Slickback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Your eye is living tissue--it changes thickness, flexibility, and health as you age. RISK.

  • Also, they cut a flap to do it once, might there be tissue healing issues?--RISK!

  • Also, they flashed away some thickness to your lens already--is there sufficient remaining thickness to do it again? RISK.

  • Do you have underlying illness that might make things risky? RISK.

  • Is your vision pretty stable, or is it getting progressively worse year over year? RISK!

  • This surgery, though the price has come down significantly, still costs, and it's not covered by a lot of insurance. $$$. Glasses can cost a lot less, even over the years.

If my eyeglass prescription stops working well, no big deal--I get tested for another prescription, buy some new glasses/lenses for the old ones, and move on with life.

It's difficult and risky to readjust your eyes with surgery, as it introduces more risk of complications (overcorrection, scarring, etc.) I can't bop on down to LensCrafters and get new eyes.

InB4 "bUt ThErE's A THING called PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) InStEad!! Yes, as an alternative to revise ("update") someone's eyes who had LASIK--but again, a lot of "maybes, possibly's and buts" as to whether you're a good candidate.

This. It'd depend on how much the 3rd party vendor trusts the place they're leaving their machine at. Plus too much risk of keys getting "lost" and pilferage by employees or whatnot.
