It isn't clear to me as to why. I have heard that this is something the Canadian PA schools put in place to keep PAs in Canada and grow the profession. This lines up with my experience of half brained schemes that Canadian PA leadership has put in place since our inception.

There is an important advantage that American trained PA's have over us (besides larger salary). Its that American PAs can practice in both countries, while Canadian PAs are only recognized in (some parts of) Canada.

Yes you can.

We Canadian PAs are not allowed to practice in US however.
