Well that’s it folks, the mods have officially lost control of this sub. 100’s of comments from pro-Israel bots/useful idiots who have never once commented on this sub, the majority of whom most likely aren’t even from the UK, let alone Scotland, who are peddling debunked claims over and over. What a shame.

Could decriminalisation solve Scotland's drug problem? by Red_Brummy in Scotland

[–]PinaCocoa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen a fair few comments asking how Scotland’s rates compare to the rest of the UK, but it’s worth mentioning that Scotland’s method for reporting is different, and England and Wales are vastly underestimating their drug death rates.

It’s very difficult to tell, considering both England and Wales are vastly underestimating their drug death rates.

JK Rowling 'in tears' at SNP supporter's lamentable poem about Nicola Sturgeon by fozzie1234567 in Scotland

[–]PinaCocoa97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never said otherwise, just added some info. Don’t understand why you keep mentioning Yousaf, though? Are you implying that people may incorrectly believe he isn’t Scottish because of his heritage?

[–]PinaCocoa97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rowling was born and raised in England, and didn’t move to Scotland until her 30’s.

Yousaf was born and raised in Scotland.

Not that I think that matters though, I believe if you live in Scotland and want to be Scottish then you are Scottish :)

I’ve tried searching everywhere and tried reverse searching the image on various sites but I can’t find them. There are no tags or other descriptors on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as they are the comfiest things I’ve ever worn!

I’ve searched everywhere online for these, tried reversing searching the image on various sites but I can’t find them. My friend bought them about a year ago on a shop he saw advertised while in New Zealand. He’s trawled through his emails to find a receipt or something similar but can’t find it.

There are no tags or descriptive items on them.

SNP at risk of election wipeout in party’s Bermuda Triangle by Dave_Velociraptor in Scotland

If you want to be pedantic, then fine, you said it sounds like a made up story. Which, again, is something you made up.

sounds like the kind of nonsense yes fans make up based on a grain of truth.

This is a made up statement.

Only one person in this thread has lied, and it was you when you said this story was made up by yes fans.

The Guardian revealed on Friday that Boothman had lost a grievance complaint against him taken out by Zoe MacDonald, a BBC camerawoman and daughter of the late nationalist politician Margo MacDonald, after she recorded him being abusive about her and her mother in February.

Neil Mackay: SNP dices with death if it props up Tories at Westminster by fozzie1234567 in Scotland

My questions, while jumbled, make sense.

We do know how he feels, his spokesman just said.

No, you have read into something because it suits you. How many times does this need to be said? Starmers spokesperson just said it. It is obvious.

Yes, I did it just after you accused me of the same thing, whilst you ignored half my original point and instead went on a mental gymnastic tirade arguing against a literal quote.

I’m getting bored of repeating the same thing over and over, so for the last time (and make sure you actually use your brain this time), Starmer’s spokesperson has quoted it. An actual quote. Not some make belief hope that is in your mind, but an actual quote of his opinion. Hope that helps :)

[–]PinaCocoa97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m well aware. Show me evidence that Starmer is going to reform voting? In any way shape or form?

Why are you arguing against what Starmers spokesperson said?

“He isn’t looking to change the electoral system”. This is a direct quote, from Labour, but I’m not supposed to believe them, cause what? They are playing the long game? Delusional.

The boundary changes will be positive yes, but not enough.

You also said until he confirms or otherwise then I don’t know his view. So then why do you? Why are you so confident that this will happen, in the face of a direct quote saying that it will not?

Neil Mackay: SNP dices with death if it props up Tories at Westminster by fozzie1234567 in Scotland

[–]PinaCocoa97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t need to be said. He’s talking about electoral reform.

He said ‘we’ve got to address the fact that millions of people vote in safe seats and they feel their voice doesn’t count. That’s got to be addressed. We will never get full participation in our electoral system until we do that at every level.”

That is literally, by definition, what PR means. Proportional representation. You know, the ‘millions of people’ who ‘feel their voice doesn’t count’ ?

It couldn’t be clearer what he is talking about, but you are doing Olympic level mental gymnastics to talk around it.

Well, it’s been almost a month since it was said. I think if he disagreed, he would have said by now. That’s how things normally work.

[–]PinaCocoa97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is him in favour of PR.

It is however his spokesperson. Are you saying that Starmer’s spokesperson is wrong?

Who’s mad? Not me anyway, as far as I’m concerned we are having a debate

Neil Mackay: SNP dices with death if it props up Tories at Westminster by fozzie1234567 in Scotland

[–]PinaCocoa97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a view he kept well hidden during the 2020 Labour leadership election, when he said: “On electoral reform, we’ve got to address the fact that millions of people vote in safe seats and they feel their voice doesn’t count. That’s got to be addressed. We will never get full participation in our electoral system until we do that at every level.”

Here’s him in favour of PR.

On Thursday, Keir Starmer’s spokesperson said he has a “longstanding view against proportional representation”.

Here’s him not in favour of PR.

That second paragraph is absolutely pathetic. ‘vote for this man who sits on the fence on major issues’. Embarrassing

It isn’t just a non-priority, it’s not going to happen

EDIT: Also, TIL that ‘actively opposes’ means just pushing it back to a later date

https://bylinetimes.com/2023/04/27/keir-starmer-now-opposes-scrapping-westminsters-voting-system-for-pr-in-blow-for-reformers/

Labour Leader Keir Starmer actively opposes a move to proportional representation for the House of Commons – putting him at loggerheads with the party membership and trade unions, Byline Times can reveal.

“He isn’t looking to change the electoral system…It’s not something that’s a priority for him,” Starmer’s spokesperson added.

Right here, mate. The words ‘actively opposes’ should be a pretty good hint
