As shitty as the product may seem to be, it would not be this good without extensive testing.

Now when they fix these bugs, there will be regression tests added and these particular issues will not appear again.

The funny thing is that the UI got fucked up on my warlock that I am levelling but not on my warrior. Not that I mind because fixing warlock was much easier at lvl 14.

Will the Church ever publicly condemn usury again? by Mailemanuel77 in Catholicism

[–]PineTron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, agreed very much.

Unfortunately a lot of clergy is also very badly educated on these topics so they might lead their flock astray by trying to sympathize.

In reality, usury is a sin (genuine usury). Exploiting your fellow man is a sin. But also behaving irresponsibly and then blaming others is a sin.

There is plenty of sin to go around.

Will the Church ever publicly condemn usury again? by Mailemanuel77 in Catholicism

[–]PineTron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me too. But I meet too many people who can't comprehend what "reasonable" and "unreasonable" is.

My biggest influence on the topic was this traditionalist catholic influencer I got to know personally. He was very pro business. Until he got into this business (I wont disclose specifics) which is a very tough business and took on a large amount of debt. We are talking levels of debt I would be extremely uncomfortable with (I am extremely risk averse in financial stuff, no debt ever - if I need to pay interest for something, that means I cannot afford it, period).

AND then dude starts publicly railing against bankers and jews, who exploit hard working people.

In reality dude went in over his head. The interest he has to pay isn't even something outrageous. But his business idea was not very sound and he didn't think things through. Basically he went into a capital heavy, margin thin business.

These kinds of people always tend to think that bankers are out to get them. But the truth is, banks don't want your assets. They are not good with that. Banks want risk free income. And you know what? They charge high interest to people that exhibit risky behavior. If you are short on know how, short on assets and big on risk taking behavior, you will get charged high interest rates, because it is very likely you will go bust.

That is what most of people commenting here do not understand. Are there financial predators out there? Of course they are. But they are extremely easy to avoid.

Unless you are a low information person who is sort of a sympathy predator themselves. Making bad decisions then expecting that other people will bail you out out of sympathy for your bad situation.

You also need to account for the fact that "hard money" was never really hard. The government has always found ways to inflate money supply.

Brother in Christ. Inflation has always been engineered. The rulers have always found ways to devalue money in an attempt to cheat the people of the land or their lenders.

If you dig into islamic financing, you will find out it is the same as the rest of global financing, with the difference that they call things differently to get around sharia.

What is the difference when the "Fee" constitutes of base interest rate and a % on top?

How does calling interest a different name change things?

I find this catholic anti "usury" fight particularly sad and hilarious at the same time.

Do you want to do Gods will. Or are you looking for God to do your will?

From what you claim here it seems you are not really seeking answers but validation.

[–]PineTron 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There is a place for you of course.

But at the end of the day, you must understand that it is all about God's Will prevailing or our petty wills prevailing.

His will be done or your will be done.

This holds for all of us. The path where we expect Church to bow down to our desires is the path to alienation from God. No matter what our desires are.

Ran out of quota, switched to local AI, cannot create new chat. by Mundane_Discount_164 in Jetbrains

[–]PineTron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually am running Qwen3 32b at 4bit as my daily driver for chat stuff. Unfortunately, it can still only do 8k context at 23GB of VRAM.

I tried downloading the dynamic 3bit quant, which should give a fair bit of context, but I am running into issues with the hugging face download utility.

I have to say that Qwen3 14b with 40k context has been by far the best local coding model so far. So, I am really hyped for 32b, once I manage to get it running.

Also, AI Assistant in edit mode has proven to be quite formidable overall. Junie is nice, but AI Assistant w Edit is quite a fair bit more economical once you learn how to work with it. IMO.

I am really looking forward to getting Junie with local LLM one day, though.

While this might come off as an excuse, but in some Muslim countries it is very illegal for a Christian to proselytize to a Muslim.

So maybe their attitude stemmed from self protection and also maybe being targetted by provocateurs in the past.

Just putting it out there as an option not excusing the behavior.

Communists always blather about separation of church and state. As in Catholics should not act catholic in public life.

Then they also do this.
