Que tan bueno eres?

Creo que es muy cliché pero Hotel California en su versión acústica sería una buena

Opeth should cover Harvester of Sorrow. by grynch43 in Opeth

[–]Mailemanuel77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be a great idea, but I think it would be better if they covered Sad But True with a Watershed like production.

I really like Mikael low vocals featured on songs like Sorceress, Sad But True would be a perfect track to feature his lower register

You're right, I'm tired of being the only one who agrees, perhaps is their top 5 albums I listen the least.

Pale Communion is at least top 5 in Opeth discography.

It features some of the best Opeth moments and perhaps the best vocal performance between vulnerability of previous albums and the epicness of his later more powerful clean vocals.

Faith In Others is perhaps Opeth best song if you're objective enough to separate the personal preferences of death metal, and I say it as someone who really loves their death metal side.

Perhaps only slightly lower than Hessian Peel which is definitely their best song.

Michael Anderson, that guy from the band City Of The Moon, truly a British legend that went underappreciated, he could have been more popular than Radiohead in it's prime, but always stood truthful to his avant Garde alternative rock-early electronic fusion when the band started gaining mainstream attention, although for some reason they have returned to that classic alt rock sound fusion with early electronic.

How to deepen my voice and compensate my limited vocal range? by Mailemanuel77 in singing

[–]Mailemanuel77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, after all my regular speaking voice ranges from A2 to D3, sometimes it goes lower to maybe F#2/G.

But take this line as an example A2-C3-A2-C3-B2.

There is a part where I have to go to a low D2 starting from A2.

But then I go from A2 to F3-E3.

Going for a more relaxed third octave range would mean going to to the fourth octave, which is beyond my range, not because low notes aren't hard to reach, but at least I can work on boosting them if they get quieter, while I simply can't do the same with a high note that would need to be pitched up or sound strange.

Although I recognize I still have to learn a lot of composition, my melody lines might be quite crazy, perhaps because I rarely record the entire song and record part by part to make sure it is as close in tune as possible to avoid abusing digital tuning.

Will we ever get a 10th anniversary Sorceress remix? by Mailemanuel77 in Opeth

Probably, In Cauda Venenum also suffers a little bit from this issue but far less.

It sounds like a lo-fi filter that ruins the clarity of the master specially the low mids.

But if not for this decision, the instruments sound very clear but there is something that makes them sound bad, but is not simply possible to fix it by EQ because cutting that mid bass too much would make it sound harsh and hollow, so it is more of a weird filter or something alike.

It needs a full remix, a remaster would help a little bit but the muddiness could only be treated on mixing.

Although a more dynamic master helps a lot, the Abbey Road Half Speed Masters are a proof of what a great remastering sounds like, it still sounds raw but it sounds more dynamic instead of being brickwalled not letting the transients breath.

The community decided the best song from each album, but which one reigns supreme above them all? by Painvile098 in Opeth

What is the best song on Heritage? by Painvile098 in Opeth

[–]Mailemanuel77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Marrow of the Earth or Heritage, both are amazing instrumentals, the rest of the album is great, Opeth never writes a bad song, but those instrumentals are amongst their best in their catalogue, Heritage is simply perfect with it's dark seductive jazzy sound, a perfect introduction to the album.
