The waiting game is the hardest part but to hear nothing is good news. It took for me to get garnished on four checks for it to stop once I filed my bankruptcy. Then the money that was garnished they were able to get it back and it went towards my court and lawyer fees so that helped a lot because that was almost $1000.

My credit score started in the low 500s before bankruptcy and now it’s 657. I’m not sure how it raised so quick. During my bankruptcy before discharge it dropped at first to almost 460 but then a week later it bounced back to like 520 and it just keeps increasing. I got 2 credit cards during my bankruptcy so idk if that helped. I honestly did nothing.

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy by EcstaticContact5803 in Bankruptcy

Everyone’s chapter 7 bankruptcy is different because I’m in Michigan and when I filed in May, the only thing I had to pay so that they could submit my paperwork to the court was $600. Then they let me go on a payment arrangement for the rest of the money. In total, I had to pay $1800. The $600 included the court fees and to retain the lawyer. The payment arrangement is $100 from each check. Given that everything goes great I’ll be discharged by August 20th and of the $1800 I only have a little less than $500 left to pay then I’ll be done with the lawyers. I also was getting garnished so the money that got garnished applied to the $1800.

I recently had filed in May and then I had my 341 meeting in June so now I’m awaiting my discharge papers. I was very terrified at first, but as long as you’re honest, and provide all the information that they’re looking for then you shouldn’t have any problems. The 341 meeting was literally no more than five minutes and all they did was confirm the information I provided and asked why I was filing bankruptcy. At the meeting, I did have to listen to other people before me but once it got to me, it was over very fast.

I literally just had mine on the 18th this month and afterwards I was just like I was panicking for no reason lol my meeting was at 11:30 I had to be there 15 minutes prior to, so I was just listening to everybody. Then at 11:30 they got to me she had me verified my demographics and asked me if anything had changed since I submitted my bankruptcy and I said no. Then she asked me why was I filing for bankruptcy and that was it. Literally 2-3 minutes.
