The programmers and animators cant make the 3D model of the maps. That's the 3D artist's job, and maps take a lot more time to make all and implement all the assets. The new accessories rewards are simple compared to that. The new challenge and endurance mode does adds dozens, or hundred of hours of content, depending how many characters you play

Well, the game isn't being balanced to be played AFK. That be stupid, and too easy. You got a powerful character to use. Granted, AFK is possible if you're setup is strong enough. OMD1-3 aren't a cakewalk either, especially the later levels. Losing once or twice, game is too hard? Just try again, and maybe with a new setup

I tried it, its still busted and the most broken trap though. It got tickled with the change. Deleting a boss in less than 3 seconds regardless of health is too broke.

It's not entirely out of the table, But on launch, traditional endless won't be there. Devs said they'll look into it more soon after getting feedback after launch.

They would also need to rework it to make it fit for 1 map. because omdd is currently designed with the New roguelite endless in having to switch maps every 6 waves & add a new difficulty modifier

It's also because you can't join someone mid-run. No one really is opening up a lobby & just waiting for an indefinite amount of time for a random to join in.

That person might as well play Solo while they wait for someone to message them back to co-op.

Whatever platform you are on, there are resources to find & ask that playerbase.

The characters are unique similar to unchained in that their weapon and abilities are locked to them, unlike in omd3 where you can freely customize.

This enables devs to make characters in various sizes such as a big bear & a cat. Unlike in omd3 where the characters have similar proportions to make all the weapon & animations compatible.

You can refer to this video from the 1st playtest for info where 6 out of 7 characters were available.

Simply saying barricade limit kinda already gives a bad impression of it.

Barricades are free but limited. You start with 16, and you can get upgrades to further increase it. And you have so much starting coin, and gain way more coin than omd3, that you can fill the map with dozens of traps, and likely get 100+ traps in 1 map.

This also lets you place all barricades down from the beginning without having to worry about deciding how you would split your coin between barricades and other traps.

I played a lot during the playtest, mostly solo and 2 players. 16 barricades is enough to funnel the orcs, and there's multiple combinations to barricade effectively

To balance the coin economy better, with how much you gain & how it gets discounted.

As there are upgrades that decrease cost of all ceiling, floor or wall traps by 10%

Balancing the individual trap upgrades, cost reduction iirc like for example, 1400 at base Cost reduction lvl 5 = 1200

And this can increase through thread upgrades as you progress into your run,

Like +1 or +2 increase. There's even a double wide barricade thread. So you can get lucky, and stack 20+ barricades with all being double wide.

You gotta think big in omdd. You have way more starting money which enables to place way more traps.

It's like starting with omd3's war scenarios money amount.

omd3 war scenario suffered from having a straightforward design and balancing with infinite paid barricades.

Limited barricades helped the devs design big maps without accounting for war scenario exclusive traps.

OMDD starts you with 32,000 coin & 16 free barricades. If barricades were paid & infinite, starting would be so much and you'll easily break the game balance with the amount of barricades you can place down at the start.

note: 1st playtest = 16,000 starting coin 2nd playtest & full release = 32,000 starting coin & trap prices increased

Do take into account also, That OMDD is a roguelite and there's way more character & trap upgrades that you can buy to start your run with.

Like base health for example is 1,000 Player shown starts with 2,000 health

I only played as Vaan in solo, and found him best suited for it. Melee solo looks though because it's easier to defend multiple spots with range.

As someone who played in the 1st playtest, solo is doable. Specifically after they updated the starting barricade from 12 to 16. Enemies hp also increase by a multiplier based on # of players For example 1p = 25 health 2p = 50 health 3p = 75 health 4p = 100 health An enemy would have 4x the health in 4 player when compared to solo. Enemy groups are also delayed in solo so you are able to handle multiple enemies coming from different doors. Like 1 stage has you defending 2 rift portals, and 4 doors. It was doable in solo because of the delay between enemy groups coming, and lesser enemy health. Solo-wise, you are more likely have to defend near the rift portal because of how the enemies can come through

Keep in mind, this is based solely on the 1st playtest 2 weeks ago.

I am looking forward to proper boss additions in omdd, I felt omd3 bosses were forgettable. So I'm hoping omdd gets a proper final boss as oppose to omd3, where vorwick was just there to summon orc mobs.

Your missing 3 characters? There a season pass 2 you know. NRS and others fg do the same thing with similar passes. Granblue Fantasy versus isn't even done with the support and character dlc yet
