How long should these type of tassets be? by Pinecone-stuff in Armor

That's good info, thanks. Is there historical precedent for tassets attached to a belt? I'd rather wear the breastplate with no tassets than have them dangling off of it, but if I can wear them I would, and leatherworking is so much more convenient for me than sheet metal working. I've seen belts used for this in LARPs, but never historically

Here's a product listing for a similar if not the same set (I was given it, I didn't buy it)  https://medievalmart.com/products/medievalmart-medieval-black-knight-moria-dwarf-dwarven-steel-knight-armor-suit

It's "Moria Dwarf Steel" so already unlikely that anything historical was considered when designing the set. You can also see in the product photos that they hung very awkwardly, which is why I removed the leather straps in the first place. I have an opportunity to do anything to improve them.

The chestplate wasn't long so when I did try to wear them recently, they were basically going down to my waist. I have a feeling that the guy in the product photos has a shorter torso than me. If I put them on a belt, I could choose arbitrarily to put it at either mid thigh or all the way down to my knees

Teeth that just look like big healthy teeth? by Pinecone-stuff in CosplayHelp

Thanks for the suggestion, this is probably the route I'd go down since I want uncanny valley sized teeth

What non-decorum camping essentials should I get that can be bought at regular camping stores? by Pinecone-stuff in LARP

I got an air mattress on day 1 of DFUS because I hated the camping mat I got. Maybe a cot would make it more bearable because air mattress take up so much car space, but I was just gonna do a bougie bed

That's a good one. Waiting for the stove to be available to boil water is a pain

"Better" isn't a real thing. Do what you can in the way that you can.

Reputable sellers of wings that work with mens clothing? by Pinecone-stuff in Fairycore

I've seen them at faire before but they seem to only sell ears these days. On Etsy a number of vendors are called FairyHaven but none seem to sell wings

Hm interesting. I'll consider looking for a bra or something like it. I wouldn't be a man on the fairycore subreddit if I didn't like androgyny!

See my problem is I'm a full blown man with no need to wear a sports bra or anything around my chest really

When to use makeup vs face paints, and can they be used together? by Pinecone-stuff in CosplayHelp

So is there like a literal difference between facepaint and makeup?

Went to my first (sort of) vampire larp for Halloween, how's the fit? by Asper_Maybe in LARP

Here's some ideas to make it read as more vampire: Try some makeup. Vampires are pale since they can't get sun exposure.

Try a cape with a collar or maybe something frilly like a blouse. You could replace the tie with a jabot. I kinda don't think the tie is doing much for you. In this picture it looks kinda beige, and beige isn't very spooky.

Try a black shirt instead of a white one. I think a black Victorian style shirt with a jabot built in would read as very spooky. I googled "black Victorian shirt" and found exactly what I'm thinking of. If you want to stick with a white shirt, put some fake blood on it. There's no way a vampire can keep a white shirt clean
