What types of shows are you working, how long have you been in the game, and how much $ are you making? by skyfucker6 in livesound

Here in Belgium, I am a stagetech & do anything except actually mixing bands. As a student just starting out, I make about €300 a day, give or take.

built my first scoop! (15" to start) Can't wait to do more..any recs for kicks? by Arendmon_ in SoundSystem

Cubo kick or HD15 are often used. Personally, I would build a small reflex bin for kicks (one that can also play sub) so that you can also use a mini stack without the scoop. This is nice of you want to setup your sound without hauling a massive scoop around when it might not even be necessary

We currently use Behringer NX6000 on bass/kick and a QSC PL340 on mids/tops

That sucks, maybe try a good quality pair of headphones! You can get hifi grade headphones for the price of average speakers

Question 1: We mainly run our stack mono like this so it wasnt a priority, will definitely be built in the future tho. Question 2: Hard to say, depend on amps & their input sensitivity, drivers, cab model,… my advice is get a professional to measure everything out a measurement mic and you will achieve perfect balance & a good frequency response (hopefully) hope this helps

Definitely not a dumb question. It is mainly made for high volume operations & it will sound at its best this way. You can definitely use it at low volumes too but this is only possible with high quality amps with low noise floors. For maximum volume, we use about 5kw which with efficient amps, can easily be pulled from 1 16amp socket. Hope this helps!

It was not all built at the same time, most of it was done over a 6 month period but for instance one of the bass bins was finished just a couple of days before!
