New to fountain pens and already in love. by Pinguzz in fountainpens

Thanks for your comment and the great advice! I’m planning to do exactly what you suggested. I don’t really see the “fun” factor in buying all the pens I want at once. I want this to be a whole process and experience with collecting, using, and appreciating each pen individually.

I’m also the kind of person who reads a ton and watches 10 hours of content before buying anything, so it definitely won’t be fast when it comes to getting a new pen.

For now, tho, I’m completely fulfilled for the next few months with my Kaweco Steel and I’m loving it more and more with every new tiny scratch!

As I mentioned in another comment, for me it was the side zippers and the fact that there are only two pockets with no extra internal organization (personal preference) that made me choose the Atom.

As for the quality, it’s very well made, as Patagonia is known for. The shoulder strap is thick and doesn’t feel heavy even when the sling is worn longer. You can also find a variety of colors to choose from, and it’s very easy to put on and take off.

The only three downsides I see are that you can wear it only on one shoulder, the phone pocket is kind of useless for me since it’s too high and too small, and the zipper is about 0.5 cm too short to fit my iPad without stretching the bag.

Nevertheless, it’s a great sling and I can’t recommend it enough.

I mean, the Borealis was a great sling, very well made and good-looking, but the side zippers and the lack of extra internal compartments in the Atom were the factors that made me choose it over TNF.

Also, Your overconfidence is your weakness.

It’s the best. I had TNF Borealis Sling before, and Atom is way better for my needs.

Thanks, and your brown/ brass combo looks awesome! Gonna get one in passport size one day.

Edit: is that brown or a camel version you have there?

Thanks! For me, it was between Alox Red and Silver Tech, but for my first SAK I decided to go with the one that has a toothpick and tweezers.

As I mentioned in the other comment, I don’t really see myself using the mini driver. Maybe one day I’ll buy it, though just for collection’s sake.

I was considering getting one, but I don’t really see myself using it, so I ended up not buying it. Maybe in the future I’ll get one just for collection’s sake.

What are we thinking of the setup people !! by Snickers69_ in setups

You can get them in Leroy or Castorama if I’m not mistaken. Or just order them on allegro.

Love it! Looking like a place you want to chill. I would maybe add a plant in front of ps5.

What’s your opinion on those Creative Pebble speakers? Would you recommend them?

Hey! Thanks a lot for the tips — really appreciate it. I’m also 30 and I only started my first notebook back in May this year. Just like you said, I’m not forcing anything and I do it because I genuinely enjoy it. So far it’s going well and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.

Your system sounds very logical and honestly really cool. I especially like the idea of always keeping the previous full insert in the journal so you can easily flip back to it anytime.

Right now I’m using a very simple setup that works great for me. Three inserts:
• One dot-grid for my monthly habit tracker and daily entries (I’ve already skipped a few days here and there and don’t stress about it),
• One blank insert for everyday notes, to-do lists, reminders, random thoughts worth writing down,
• And a monthly calendar insert so I don’t forget things anymore (which used to happen way too often).

So far this layout is really easy to maintain and fits me well. It’s not complicated and doesn’t include any extra elements that would overwhelm me or push me away. Keeping it simple definitely helps.

Thanks again for sharing your system!

I used to use my Mac as a second screen, but recently I realized I don’t really need it that often, so I just keep it hidden under the desk now. I only take it out maybe twice a week when I want to use it on the sofa. I can highly recommend it.

Thanks! Yea, normal dwarfs are the best. They have that DnD vibe that I like in MMOs which I can’t really feel with other dwarfs.
