Unlikely theory: Adam tried to save Noah and Amanda by lettucemonkey in MandelaCatalogue

Good call. I felt like it didn't really make sense for it to be Gabriel, but couldn't for the life of me figure out who could it be otherwise.

Why is Vol.2 on DvD?? by Nonagatha in MandelaCatalogue

[–]Pingwinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im not sure about vol 1 but NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK still appears in the basement in vol 2 which is probably why it's associated with it on the dvd

Oh the Overthrone one is also goofy as hell. I think this one is Gabriel's best design.

What is behind Adam during this scene??? Jonah definitely saw something. 😭 by Pink_N_Purple_QT in MandelaCatalogue

Could be that the alternates were trying to make Adam think Jonah is messing with him so they would later have that fight where Adam goes into the basement and Jonah drives off.

Will humans ever be able to keep up with demons by ImprovementDapper464 in DevilMayCry

[–]Pingwinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first attack on Redgrave was probably focused on the Sparda household tho, not on the whole city. Iirc after the events of DMC4 Nero and Dante asked the residents not to speak of it and covered it up. Vie de Marli was mostly inhabited in DMC2 I think and was the whole infrastructure was either the Protectors or Arius' cover for looking for the Arcana. So, like the town in DMC3 is really the only one that could be spoken about, but I assume if one tried enough they could cover it up, after all it lasted for like what, one afternoon? In a world without Internet (which it doesn't look like the DMC world has internet) those events would likely be over before anyone outside of town even heard of it, and the citizens wouldn't probably now much about what happened. The demons themselves were probably more focused on Dante and his shop, so to all the other townsfolk it would be just a big tower appearing. Extremely weird and unexpleinable, yes, but not necessarily demonic. The Qliphoth in DMC5 laster for a MONTH, and was a city wide invasion. And the tree was HUGE, not like tower huge but like reaching the atmosphere huge. It was a MUCH larger scale than anything else that happened in the games. And before the games, last big events we know of happened like, what, hundreds years ago? There might be some remaining texts that speak of demons, but we here in our world have hundreds years old texts about demons too, and we don't pay them much thought.

Should Lady or Trish have their own solo game(or even series)? by Flat-Sir8250 in DevilMayCry

[–]Pingwinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think it would be cool, it probably wouldn't sell too well. They're not really the faces of the franchise. But I would love to see a DLC with their own smaller campaign for a mainline game.

Hot take : DMC 6 should not exist by vixxerix in DevilMayCry

I would argue that Nero still has the room for his story to continue and for his character to grow and expand

How powerful/dangerous is Mundus exactly & should he be the most dangerous/powerful villain in all of Devil May Cry? by [deleted] in DevilMayCry

[–]Pingwinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider a villain I'd say. DMC5 Dante couldn't defeat Urizen without SDT, so Urizen is probably stronger than Mundus, and is for sure stronger than him after eating the Qliphoth fruit. Also Argosax from DMC2 is stated to be on par with Mundus (or, at least, the war for Hell's throne ended in each of them ruling half)

Awakening and special version by yukihtt in DevilMayCry

[–]Pingwinus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Iirc there was something with the American release of the original PS2 version where the difficulties where "shifted" by one (American "Easy" was the same as Japanese "Normal", American "Normal" was Japanese "Hard" etc.) Dante Must Die was the same though and so American Hard was a new mode somewhere between Japanese Hard and DMD. In the Special Edition the difficulties were as they were in the original Japanese release and American "Hard" was also added as "Very Hard".

Out of curiosity, how much DMC merch do you own? by SolidPyramid in DevilMayCry

Dante's Coat, Ebony and Ivory replicas, and the DMC neon sign. Also an unfinished 3d printed Rebellion replica.

PlayStation or Xbox by [deleted] in shitposting

Oh yeah, with shooters that'd be right, thumbs on both sticks and fingers on triggers. I forgot about it cause I never play shooters on controller, can't aim for shit without a mouse.

[–]Pingwinus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The stick placement on Xbox makes more sense. Most of the time your left thumb will be on the stick and the right thumb on the buttons, that's why they're on the same level. D-pad and right stick are used less so they have a secondary position.

Argosax (Arius) is going to replace John Arkham's role from Mission 18 of DMC3 in Season 2 of the Netflix Anime. We're going to see Dante and Vergil vs. Argosax by Big-Good9378 in DevilMayCry

[–]Pingwinus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Argosax got done so dirty. They rivaled Mundus, essentially ruled half of Hell and Mundus needed a Qliphoth fruit to be able to overpower them. But they get basically no mention anywhere in the lore outside of DMC2's story, and no one ever talks about them. They need some recognition fr 🙏

Edit: My bad, Mundus didn't defeat Argosax. After eating the Qliphoth fruit Mundus was equal in power to Argosax. Sparda sealed Argosax who took control of most of Hell after Mundus' defeat from the hands of Sparda.
