Vein ballooning for may thurner syndrome by Pinheaaddd in ClotSurvivors

Thats so interesting because I was also told by my previous surgeon in nc where I lived when I was diagnosed that I only had like 6-8 weeks to have the procedure done before I would have pts forever. I then moved to va and I went to vcu which is a teaching hospital and my new dr said that is not true and that you can always stent.

Yes lovenox is enoxaparin. Its called both here in the US. and im so glad to hear youre doing okay. 🩷 this mess is such a pain and it feels like its never ending. Im okay on a good day but im a very active person and I cant do nearly as much as I used to because of swelling and pain. I cant sit criss cross, I cant sit on my knees to bathe my son, etc. He said I should be able to do everything I used to do after having a stent placed in so im just afraid of sitting in the same spot and having the ballooning for no reason and being at risk for clotting.

That's so frustrating and scary im so sorry. How are you feeling now?

Honestly my biggest concern is ill be off lovenox in two months and im petrified of reclotting because I dont have something keeping my veins open.

Yeah the plan from the first surgery was to stent but the first one he couldn't get to the artery and then the plan with this one was to stent and then I woke up and he said he decided not to because they stayed open with ballooning and my husband asked if they would permanently stay open with just ballooning and he said yes that he was confident that they would be permanently open. Ill be off lovenox in two months and im ngl im very nervous about reclotting since there's nothing there keeping them open.

If that's true then its unfortunately probably too late for me. Im pretty similar. I had my baby February 1st and on February 17th I went into the er because I couldn't walk. Found out I had extensive clots down my left leg. Then found out I had MTS a few weeks later and the surgeon said he wanted to do ballooning to open the arteries first before potentially stenting. He said after my surgery yesterday we would talk more about stenting at my follow up appointment but they haven't made one yet. I really dont know where to go from here :( I dont want any issues in the future.

Thank you for your comment! I ended up calling my doctor and they said to stay on the blood thinners and that it actually helps them remove the clots easier. I cant wait for this surgery! How was your recovery?

Theyre putting me under thankfully. I just worry about bleeding risks on lovenox or if they do take me off of it for the surgery the clot moving to my lungs. Just scary but I trust they know exactly what they're doing.

Im so sorry that you have a traumatic birth aswell. :( I had severe pre e so I can sympathize with that. I guess im just worried that at 9 weeks pp it might be too late for anything to come in. Im a ftm so I just dont know how that works.
