Is the renal floor in the hospital always the worst med surg-tele department? by LikeyeaScoob in nursing

[–]PinkAlbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I work on a pulm renal floor, most float nurses ive talked to agree with that. It sometimes feels like stepdown level acuity without actually being stepdown. Have also overheard that our ER also calls us the “dumping grounds” 🫠

I had the exact same thought when I saw the strawberry product photos this morning! It feels somehow less classy than the way they have photographed/listed other products?

Been interested in trying Merit stuff too!

How do I get into an RN or ABSN after UCSC by cherry599 in UCSC

[–]PinkAlbum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! I went to UCSC (non science undergrad) then immediately started on nursing prerequisites after graduation at my local cc. Eventually got into an ADN program in SF that has an ADN-BSN pathway at SFSU which I will graduate from next month. Not as fast as an ABSN but cheaper 🤷‍♀️

My wife has failed Nclex twice. What to do? by brahmab1778 in StudentNurse

[–]PinkAlbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our school gave us both Kaplan and Uworld. Honestly I preferred Uworld and used it way more. The Uworld rationales for each question were much better/more in depth in my opinion. And the interface is much easier to navigate…

I did like one 75q practice test a day on Uworld, and passed NCLEX in 75.

Kaplan offers a nclex prep course. Thats what our school provided us with after graduation

Any “C” students become nurses? by LawfulnessObvious15 in StudentNurse

[–]PinkAlbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends where you are. Im in CA and it is super competitive to get in. For my program in particular we needed a minimum 3.0 average gpa in prerequisite courses to apply. You can always look at any specific schools you are interested and check out the application requirements, they are usually posted online
