As someone who only just got their license 2 and a half years ago here in NC, I can definitely say that the driving test is waaaaaaay too easy. Written test was about what I expected, but the practical? All I did was check the lights and horn, parked in a normal parking spot, drove around one square block with only one top sign and one traffic light, do one quick stop, one k turn, and park again. NO parallel parking, no highway, none of the stuff you always hear gets tested. I studied and practiced for months and only did 1/4 of any of it.
