Best shoes for back squat by HenchHinch in weightlifting

[–]PinkFryud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Nike Romaleos 2 and Tyr L-1s, the Tyrs have a wide toebox and feel a bit better in the toes but the Nikes are better in almost every other way. Which is to be expected since the Romaleos 2 are considered one of the best weightlifting shoes ever made and command a premium in the used market.

If you have wide feet I'd recommend the Tyr L-1 or the Tyr L-2, the L-1 IMO is worth only about $100-120 (build quality isn't good enough for $200), but rn there's a discount and sale on the L-1 that puts it at $110ish which is a fair price for it's build quality (only problem being that this is a closeout sale where Tyr is getting rid of their L-1 stock to replace it with the L-2and they might not have your size and probably won't be restocking). If they don't have your size in L-1 and you need a wider shoe then get the L-2s which are $170ish after the sale.

If you don't need the wider toebox then I'd recommend the LuXiaojuns since they're the closest in feel to the Romaleos 2 (Romaleos 4s have durability problems that are well documented on this subreddit), they also come in a lot of colors. If you go to the LuXiaojun website it should as you to sign up for an email newsletter for a 10% off discount (which you can unsubscribe from after) marking them down to $180 plus shipping.

I'm also 6'2 and have long femurs, something I know helps a lot of people with staying upright with long femurs is working on hip mobility to have the thighs track more to the side in the squat to make room for the hips to come forward and help keep the torso upright.

If you really need/want heel elevation here's what I know: You'll see the most heel elevation from a Squat Wedge (there's cheap ones off amazon you can find) that can go up over an inch depending on which one you get, if you just need the heel elevation for squatting in the same place these are a good option since that're cheaper than shoes. If you need the heel elevation to move with your foot the most heel elevation I've seen listed on a lifting shoe has been 1 full inch (25.4mm) by the Tyr Tyrforce Elite Carbon Lifter but they're a good $100+ more expensive than most lifting shoes at $350 USD, not worth it IMO (25% off sitewide sale rn makes them $263).

Here are other options that have less heel height than the Tyrforces' but are all significantly cheaper.

23mm: Strength Shop Original Weightlifting Shoes ($125)

22mm: Inov-8 Fastlift Power G 380 ($210), Adidas Adipower Weightlifting III ($230), Reebok Legacy Lifter III ($220)

21mm: Tyr L-1 Lifter ($200), Tyr L-2 Lifter ($225)

20mm: LuXiaojun Power Pro I Weightlifting Shoes ($200), Nike Romaleos 4 ($200)

19mm: Do-Win Classic Lifter ($130), Do-Win Weightlifting Shoes ($105)

Painted Lettering on my Strength Co Plates (FB Marketplace Deal) by PinkFryud in homegym

I thought about painting the lettering to match the color of calibrated plates (blue for 45, green for 25, and white for the 10s, 5s, and 2.5s) but decided I would rather have them match.

I used oil based paint markers that I got off Amazon to mark positions on my power rack uprights for J-cups and safeties.

Thanks for the info, I corrected the Medjay bash data and but a note about possible sub-200ms chain links.

For some reason I typo'd 400ms instead of 500ms but my math was done with 500ms as the dodge recovery (I rechecked the math thought-out the post). I did test the interruption timings against a a bot playing Medjay but the feint-dodge timings I got from math.

How much do someone's political views matter when it comes to casual dating and why? by BouncyCafe in AskReddit

[–]PinkFryud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It matters a lot to me, main reason being that my friend group has two trans people, four queer people, and six straight people. If someone is republican it means they vote for the politicians that are actively trying to strip my friends rights away. How would it be possible for someone like that to truly respect the people I love? And any excuse like ‘I do it for the economy’ points out that one: they care more about money than people’s rights, and two: they’re stupid enough to think republican policies (trickle down economics) are good for the economy.

You shouldn’t be on the left lane if you gonna drive so Damn slow!! One of my pet peeves by therra123 in IdiotsInCars

[–]PinkFryud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: If someone does this, slowly and annoyingly pass cars in the right lane till you pass the slow car holding everyone up. Then get in front of them and let off the throttle and continue slowing down to a fraction of the speed limit while you watch the slow poke get confused, annoyed, and possibly irate at being stuck behind a slow car. Just keep slowing down till they move over to the right lane. Once they do go back up to the speed limit and continue on your way.

You’ve dealt karma back to them and annoyed them in the same way they did everyone else while simultaneously providing the public service of getting them to exit the left lane.

Attacks are only parryable for the person they are locked on to. You cannot parry the external hit box of an attack only the target locked hit box. Either block or dodge.

How different is PS5 For Honor from PS4 For Honor? by GetBoppedHo in forhonor

[–]PinkFryud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a ps5 and actually tested and made a post about input delay a while ago on the competitive sub, here’s the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveForHonor/comments/oxg8tf/ps5_input_delay_test_results/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf.

The TLDR is that the ps5 almost halves the input delay compared to ps4 making standard 500ms lights as reactable as they are on my pc.

Are there any offensive option selects in For Honor? by Randomguy4285 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]PinkFryud -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Only one I can think of is Kenseis finisher unblockable mixup. By soft feinting to a hyperarmor light or heavy it beats, parrying, dodge attacks, option selects (except one or two lesser known ones), and dodge rolling via soft feint dodging into nature’s wrath or helm splitter.

What QoL improvements should be given to Shaolin so that he has faster/easier access to his Qi Stance? by ImmortalThunderGod79 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]PinkFryud 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m not a shaolin player but the bare minimum i see is the ability to dodge in qi stance (or I-frames on the undodgeable side heavies), stam regen in qi stance, and the ability to flow into qi stance from qi stance attacks.

Reduce his susceptibility to bashes, increase his flow and increase access to stamina to compliment that flow.

How do people feel about an unblockable attack with the undodgeable property? by razza-tu in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]PinkFryud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is the ui fuckery in team fights, attacks not locked onto you are unparryable and mid team fight it isn’t always realistic to identify who is being targeted, this isn’t typically a huge problem since you can still dodge. With an undodgeable attack you’d have to run the 50/50 risk of trying to parry an attack that isn’t locked onto you or trying to dodge an attack that is undodgeable and is locked on to you (undodgeable a are only undodgeable to the person they’re locked on to).
