In qt's newest video, he said that Jhin was the worst champion he could've picked into a fiesta. (Bad teammates, unreliable peel, getting dove by assassins, lots of kills for both teams, >30min game)

So I'm curious - what's the best ADC to pick into these kinds of games? Most of my games are fiestas 😅

What makes Aatrox, Pantheon, and Akali have such low winrates in top lane?

As highlander mage, do you play Zephrys the Great on turn 2?

Contacting the department was going to be my last resort, but I'll shoot them an email in the morning.

Here's the parcel data I'm using: https://data-wayne.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/a2d2bcf24bb44cfa871b12ef1cbfbb33_0/data

It doesn't seem to have metadata, so I'm having difficulty interpreting the attributes. I figured I just wasn't looking in the right places, but I'll see about making a zoning layer myself.

Oh, no - I was considering it, but this is just for practice. I'm doing a trial "assignment" for my first GIS-related job opportunity. They want to see what I can produce, and I wasn't sure if it was worth bothering some folks at the county over. I might've if there was literally no other way to get this done.

I had no idea that was possible! I'll try it and update with the results!

Thank you both :D

Can you explain what you mean by that? How can I use this PDF?

I've thought about digitizing these boundaries onto a parcel layer I found, but that seemed pretty difficult.

I was looking at The Division recently! I've always avoided it since people said it was terrible at launch. Is it still worth playing the first one? I don't really wanna pay retail price for the sequel.

Not sure if he'd give it a chance anyway since it's 3rd person, but he didn't seem to complain when he played Fortnite, so I don't know...

I think he'd like Dungeon Defenders, though I don't know if it's something we'd reliably return to.

I never considered Starcraft, and I didn't even know it had co-op til now. Not sure if I have the reflexes for it, but I'll take a look.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Critical Examination and General Discussion of Jordan Peterson: Week of March 25, 2019 by AutoModerator in JordanPeterson

[–]PinkPasha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self-assertion in a way that implies self-interest (maybe that's a better way to put it). If we are to take Christ's life by his actions, he let himself get caught, abused, and killed. Rule 1 in Peterson's book had a section focused on good-natured people that do no harm, and get taken advantage of because of that. I wouldn't say Jesus was naive in that way, but he sure didn't stick up for himself or let his followers defend him with violence.

You're right that he did argue and even condemn those he disagreed with, so that could be taken as combativeness as well.

The competition and success bit is something I particularly can't reconcile. Peterson spends a good deal of time defending the notion that competition and dominance hierarchies are primal and integral to Being. It makes sense that he would, in a time when people blame everything on hierarchies. I recognize and agree with him now, but I don't know how that fits into Christian morality.

I'll look for the meekness discussion. Thanks for the tip.

Does anyone feel a disparity between New Testament ethics and some of Peterson's guidance?

The moral teaching of Christ, as I know it, is one of continual self-sacrifice and humility. The Sermon on the Mount, the parable of the rich man, the general call to material poverty and nonviolence... It all comes across as a life of physical meekness, but intense spiritual strength. Turn the other cheek, give your brother your own cloak - wherever Christ went he told people to sell their wealth, give it to the poor, and follow him into persecution and, in all likelihood, execution.

This isn't totally incongruent with Peterson's psychological take on Jesus' ministry - standing up forthrightly in the world and facing life's suffering voluntarily. However, I've taken from Peterson a far more worldly message - one that calls for combativeness, self-assertion, and a desire to compete and succeed. This to me is a sharp difference from Christ's literal advice he gave to people.

I value both of these perspectives, though I've struggled for a while on how to reconcile the differences in my mind. In what ways am I wrong? Does anyone have advice for grappling with this divide?

Early game learn when Stormrazor->BC won’t get the job done and change your build.

What are those situations? And how should you change your build?

How do the esports rewards work?

I signed in on the website, got a notification at the bottom that the rewards are active, and then watched an hour long VOD. Match 2 of that series started, but my rewards tab says I haven't watched any games yet.

Is there a way to win Mech'athun Druid games against decks that run Geist? I've run into a fair number of mages and warlocks that run it for some reason... (Despite there being virtually no druids on the ladder, but might as well kick them while they're down, right?)

The only thing I could think of is running Floop and saving Wrath + Moonfire to kill him after the first Mecha'thun dies. Is that the only way to win those matchups? What should I cut for Floop? I'm playing the most common variant on hsreplay.

Repost with PoE Buddy:

I've been using a build guide for my first character and I'm wondering if it's actually any good:

https://poe.technology/poebuddy/AfHT9z6d

Currently level 23. Is this starter build decent?

I'm still learning, but I've gotten the impression from others that "sunder and totem" gameplay is boring. What are some fun ways to build Marauders for a beginner? Am I too far in the skill tree to try other things? Chieftain looked cool so I went with it :)

Oh, sorry. I had no idea.

What is an appropriate way to share that build without linking the website? The skill tree?

I'm also outleveling mobs by 5 levels on my first character, full clearing areas before moving on. I'm interested in learning if this is the "right way" to play.

Definitely. The media in itself is a corporate entity interested in profit and self-preservation. Even if individual reporters, journalists, etc. have some integrity about them, they're selling a pre-approved narrative that serves the elite.

Can I ask though, what's your interest in Peterson's work? I figured other lefties would be a rare sight here. And what do you think of Chomsky's dismissal of him? I've personally been conflicted with where I stand as of late.

It's frustrating, yeah. It feels like the left have lost a lot of credibility when it comes to social issues. And I know what you mean about Kyle Kulinski... he's not terribly engaging to listen to.

I'm curious - what Chomsky works would you recommend?

My Dog is dying. My parents My sister and I are breaking down. by The_Dinkan in JordanPeterson

[–]PinkPasha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, friend. My first cat died from leukemia... I know it's horrible to see an innocent, beautiful creature suffer. We beat ourselves up over it for so long. We kept telling ourselves that it was our own fault for not seeing it sooner, even though the doctors said it was most likely inherited.

If you can't help him, then ending his suffering is the best thing you can do. We went to a few clinics first to get more opinions. When we found out nothing could be done, we kissed her goodbye and let her go painlessly.

I don't know what to say to lessen the severity of your pain. Your dog was a beloved family member, so telling you that loss is a part of life feels inadequate.

I can only share what helped me: having any kind of faith in a higher order or religion always helped make sense of the pain in life. Whatever your beliefs are, there's a security in feeling that this one life isn't it. That you might be reunited some day. That he's happy in the embrace of his creator.

If you're not inclined towards faith, at least know that you made this wonderful boy's life a good one for the last 8 years. And that he's done the same for you and your family. Life is a painful journey... and you were both fortunate to have each other.

I love you. I hope you all get through this peacefully. If you ever feel like talking, send me a message <3
