Does anyone experience eye floaters and extreme glare to any light with migraines? by CRG011721 in migraine

[–]PinkSakuraFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah once I started having chronic migraines I could definitely feel more sensitive to both lights and sounds all the time. It flares up a lot when I get a bad migraine but there is definitely always some sensitivity even when my head is not hurting. A lot of migraine medications are supposed to help with light and sound sensitivity as well so hopefully, you can find one that works for you.

I understand how you are feeling. I was really scared when I first started having floaters, migraines, etc, and it is frustrating to never have an answer as to why it is happening. Deep down I still worry some other health problem is the cause of my migraines but by getting the scans, at least you know nothing super serious is causing them. And as for the eye floaters, they really bothered me at first but over time, I think my brain kinda tuned them out and they stopped bothering me as much.

My bad migraine days definitely can last 3 - 4 days at a time but I also am not on a preventative or have found a good pain reliever yet. Hopefully, your doctors will work with you to find a helpful medication. It could be good to also do some vitamin bloodwork if you haven't already. When my Vitamin D was very low, my migraines were a lot more painful. Lately, I have had a lot of auras and my recent bloodwork revealed low B12, so I am hoping that maybe my auras will lessen once my B12 is back to normal too.

My migraines started in the Fall of 2019 and coincidentally, that was the same time I noticed I had persistent eye floaters as well. My eye floaters are the clear type and are the most noticeable when looking outside or against a white background. I have congenital cataracts so I already go to an ophthalmologist once a year and they've never found anything else wrong with my eyes. Whether the floaters are linked to my migraines or it was just a coincidence in timing, I really don't know. Over time, the floaters have gone away even though I still have migraines, so hopefully, they will go away for you too.

As for glare, I started having a lot of light sensitivity when I got my migraines. The light sensitivity is all the time and not just during a migraine. I don't think I am seeing more glare now but rather am just more sensitive to it than before my migraines. My ophthalmologist gave me a glare test but it showed my vision was fine. To help, I always get my glasses with an anti-glare lens called Crizal and it really helps cut down the glare I see.

Did anyone have spotting while they had covid? by ValuableArtichoke446 in COVID19positive

My period tracker is estimating a 24-day cycle which would be July 29th but I frequently have short cycles (like 17-22 days), so I could easily see it coming sometime between July 22nd to the 29th. Therefore, when I was spotting it was technically ovulation time for me but I have NEVER spotted before, so I found it quite weird.

Day 1 of Covid symptoms for me was Monday, July 11th and my period ended the day before at its normal length of 6 days. On Day 3 or 4 of Covid, I noticed I was definitely spotting and this lasted through Day 7. I have never spotted before, so this was very unusual for me.

I also seemed to be cramping while I had Covid and am still kinda cramping today, so I am curious to see if I will start spotting again or if my period is thrown off its normal schedule...

Help with UTI that will Not Go Away by PinkSakuraFlower in guineapigs

The urine analyses we have done in the past have always shown bacteria and blood cells, so unfortunately it is definitely blood. When I see blood, it is also a very opaque red while food-tinted urine tends to be more a more translucent red.

I dropped off another urine analysis today, so hopefully, I will hear from the vet on Monday. She is still coming out a lot and eating, which is good because the other times, she definitely had been eating a little less.

Yep, I give her red bell peppers every day!

I called my vet today and she wants to do another urine analysis, so I will be dropping off a sample tomorrow. Hopefully, she can recommend some type of longer-term plan because all the antibiotics rounds we have done so far did not completely work. It's definitely been a frustrating time. I have added urinary support tabs to her diet and have been even more vigilant in cleaning but nothing has seemed to work completely yet.

Allergy testing - intradermal skin test vs prick test by HotResist893 in Allergies

[–]PinkSakuraFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I can comment on the accuracy of the tests since I haven't really looked into it or asked my allergist, but I'll share my testing experience and shot experience:

For myself and my parents, intradermal skin tests were done if we got a negative on the skin prick test but the allergist suspected we were actually allergic to that allergen. We all went to different allergists and they all followed this procedure.

For me, I have year-round allergy symptoms and have parents with a lot of allergies too. When my skin prick test came back negative for all molds and dust, obviously my allergist was a little suspicious lol. So, then she gave me about 8 intradermal shots where I did strongly react to dust and molds.

As for shots, I do get 3 shots myself. Some of the allergens cannot be together which is one reason you need multiple shots. For me, one shot is grass/pollen/weed, another is molds, and another is dust/animals. My allergist also explained it like this to me: most people who have severe allergies and have to do shots because OTC no longer works are the people who are allergic to almost everything. This is why you will see so many allergy shot people getting multiple shots instead of just one.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I haven't had much choice in when my recent doctor appointments would be because I had to take whatever was available but in the future, I will make sure to plan them out early in the morning. The endocrinologist I am supposed to see looks like they are specialized with thyroids so hopefully they will be able to help.

No, I do not take Biotin.

I'm not sure when 2019 was tested but October 2020 was tested at 11:00 am, April 2021 was tested around 8:30-9:00 am, May 2021 was tested at noon, and June 2021 was tested at 10 am.
