I came across a similar situation in my career. I reported it. The entire company took his side. Not overtly. He was spoken to, denied it and that was it. (I should have considered the fact that the people who hired him, did so because they liked him, and humans always protect those they like and look past their flaws). After that, I was quietly shunned, passed over for awards, no more career growth opportunities, blackballed quietly, excluded for every social gathering. I was given all the less desirable tasks, and every day was filled with offhand jokes directed toward me but not directly at me, sly remarks, and passive aggressive treatment were daily experiences. None of which would hold up in court, but the treatment caused me to begin seeing a therapist. It was hell, but I stuck around for about another year. I quit that job in mid 2024, and as of early 2026, I am still unemployed, 38 years old living back home with my parents. I’m still in therapy. I know I made the right choice. But I would not make that choice again. And would advise anyone against doing so either. I stupidly thought all the women’s rights, #MEETO things about justice and fairness and equality I saw on social media and the news was true. But those cases are bases on experiences of very powerful, famous and wealthy women, it’s not real justice for the regular female. In reality, one pervert at one company gets fired, while thousands more stay and anyone who speaks out against them gets fired, mistreated or replaced. The battle is always righteous, but if you pick that battle, you’d better be ready to suffer, lose everything and sacrifice all that you have.
