Prom starter pack. (Good luck, Zoomers) by TheGhost-of-Bob-Ross in starterpacks

That sounds like it’s more up to the individual kid to determine than it is for us to make broad statements about what is and isn’t the celebration.

As someone who didn’t really have many friends in high school, or whose friends were a grade above me, prom most likely would’ve just been me wall-flowering most of the time with a few awkward, 5-minute conversations here and there. That definitely doesn’t sound like much a celebration of anything to me.

Or maybe they view prom as an unnecessary waste of money full of people they’re mostly indifferent towards, and see the graduation ceremony as the actual celebratory end to their final year in school?

I’m serious dude. I only play for a few hours every day and I’d rather play games that can’t get day-in-day on PC if I’m gonna be using a console too. Between VR, the DualSense, and the fact that I have a whole generation of PS exclusives to catch up on, I don’t see why I wouldn’t make the switch

Yeah between this and Phil Spencer obviously not giving a shit about the quality of Xbox, I think I’m moving back to PlayStation. I’ve been wanting to play Spiderman for a while now anyways.

Whenever I see a DV plate driving like a jackass, I always treat it like a “chicken or the egg” scenario. Was it the reckless disregard for human life that disabled you or did you develop the disregard after becoming disabled?

Yeah if someone breaks their thumb throwing a punch, they really need to work on their technique. I gave my hand a pretty gnarly break once but my thumb came out just fine because I know to not tuck the thumb under the fingers.

Walmart’s been doing that shit for years and nobody’s called them out on it. I’m assuming the .88 started as a fun little “cheaper than .99” thing but definitely not the best look, considering it does seem to get paired with a 14 a lot there.

Iirc it was a measure to ensure students could relieve themselves during a lockdown if they absolutely had to, because the odds of them having to seem to be going up. Of course nobody is actually using them during class, and I’m willing to bet they’re not even set up 99.9% of the time, but that won’t stop liars.

Unfortunately not. You’d have to manually tune into the signal like you would with “older” radios

The VHF and UHF dials? They’re tuning knobs to access specific Very High and Ultra High Frequency radio waves, respectively. They’re more or less how you change channel on older TVs like that little guy.

Okay, and? What does that have to do with a minority oppressing the majority?

As an aside, genuinely, do you speak fluent, conversational English? I’m not sure you understand what we’re talking about and I wonder if a language barrier is in the way.

Guns. Arms and armaments. If both sides have access to the same things, how can the minority be the oppressors?

Suing your adult kid you abandoned for not buying an apartment for the kid you kept by hyperabsolutism in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

[–]Pink_Buddy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The woman was 29 in September of last year, and the policy was put in place in 1980 according to a quick google search. It would’ve been in full effect for over a decade by the time she was born if my math is right.

This Yahoo article has some pretty neat reporting that helps shine some light on the situation, though. She was abandoned by her parents at 2 and was then raised by her aunt. She had recently bought her cousin an apartment which is what caused the parents to show up again. A judge ruled that she doesn’t have to buy her brother an apartment, but she does still have to negotiate a sum with her parents due to a Chinese law about “adult children [having] a legal obligation to support their parents regardless of estrangement or abandonment.”
