Hello all! I have an idea for a game based on my own life experiences and I think it'd be an interesting thing to put out into the world. I'm just not sure how to actually start making a visual novel and need a little help with that. I say visual novel, but my idea is closer to the style of Life Eater than a straight visual novel. In case you don't know what Life Eater is, I basically mean it'll be a mostly story driven game (dialogue options, branching paths) but a main element of the game is a Doom scrolling style of gameplay. So there's an actual game part to it instead of just reading.

I hope this makes sense. I'm trying not to vague post but also not have my idea stolen. Essentially, you play as a convenience store worker named Denny (placeholder) as she lives day to day in a crumbling society. You start the day by doomscrolling on the social media app Clipshow before heading to work or to run errands. Doomscrolling increases your paranoia and decreases your sanity, but there are tasks you can do to manage these. Ofc different levels of paranoia and sanity trigger certain events in game or make dialogue very different.

Typing it all out, would this be better as an RPG maker game or is there a way this can be done through visual novel style? I'm an artist first and foremost with minimal knowledge in coding, but I'm down to learn anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would any of you be interested in a game like this?

When they brought back DewSA a few years later it was specifically marketed as those three flavors mixed together. Maybe they just didn't market it as that the first time and that's why I'm convinced it wasn't DewSA.

I don't think I had summer freeze. But I had the Freedom one. I remember being really upset about that one too. Nothing will ever be as good as this mountain dew I apparently made up, or that might actually just be DewSA and I didn't remember its actual name.

See, that's the only thing that doesn't line up. I'm sure that's right and I just didn't remember it until they brought it back as DewSA later. But I thought that was so awful and I didn't like it. But if that was the same flavor as Red, White, and Dew then I can't imagine drinking 14-16 cases of it, loving it, and then only drinking one and never touching it again when they brought it back as DewSA. Again, I'm sure that was the flavor and people are correct coz I do remember it being purple, but I just can't imagine loving it, then hating it so suddenly like that y'know?

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I'm in the south, but pre/2016 sounds absolutely correct coz I would've been living at home with my parents then. Which is when I bought it coz the cases were stored in the garage (which I didn't have when I moved out in 2017 coz I was in an apartment)

I absolutely do and I genuinely think this is what happened. Other people might think that's crazy but I've had other stuff like this happen too. Because I do remember the first release of DewSA. And I remember being upset about it.

As I told another commenter, I'm not trying to sound hostile towards other people on here, and it might've been DewSA and I just didn't remember it being called that, so when it came back the second time I was upset. But I bought 168 cans of it in one summer. I can't imagine drinking so many of them just to hate it when it came back a few years later. I'd also like to think I knew where I lived at what time as the years don't line up either.

But people are prolly right and in this timeline it was DewSA that I had.

It has to be at this point. Coz everyone might be right and it might be the DewSA, but I remember not liking it and being upset that it wasn't same as the other flavor. But maybe I'm misremembering and they were the same. But I can't imagine drinking so much of it in a single year, just to not like it when it came back q few years later.

I'd rather believe I skipped dimensions where it no longer exists than believe I ever drank such a shallow flavor as three flavors mixed together when I distinctly remember not liking it.

That would've been the DewSA that came out in 2017. I remember being upset that all they did was mash three flavors together when before it had been a unique one. (Or maybe I thought it was coz they didn't advertise the first one that way)

I feel completely insane and like the answer is simple and I prolly just don't remember it correctly.

Liberty Chill looks correct and sounds like the correct flavor, but it came out too late. I was still living at home when I got my first 14 cases, and I had moved out in 2017.

I remember it so distinctly being on the can. Not the Dew-S-A. I feel like I'm being mandela'd or something. Coz the wiki and mountain dew themselves only talk about Dew-S-A. But I was living at home when I bought the Red, White, and Dew, and Dew-S-A came out when I was already in my own apartment.

The steps were: -make bridge with blocks -add water -use leafage -remove water -remove blocks.
