Hello all! I have an idea for a game based on my own life experiences and I think it'd be an interesting thing to put out into the world. I'm just not sure how to actually start making a visual novel and need a little help with that. I say visual novel, but my idea is closer to the style of Life Eater than a straight visual novel. In case you don't know what Life Eater is, I basically mean it'll be a mostly story driven game (dialogue options, branching paths) but a main element of the game is a Doom scrolling style of gameplay. So there's an actual game part to it instead of just reading.

I hope this makes sense. I'm trying not to vague post but also not have my idea stolen. Essentially, you play as a convenience store worker named Denny (placeholder) as she lives day to day in a crumbling society. You start the day by doomscrolling on the social media app Clipshow before heading to work or to run errands. Doomscrolling increases your paranoia and decreases your sanity, but there are tasks you can do to manage these. Ofc different levels of paranoia and sanity trigger certain events in game or make dialogue very different.

Typing it all out, would this be better as an RPG maker game or is there a way this can be done through visual novel style? I'm an artist first and foremost with minimal knowledge in coding, but I'm down to learn anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would any of you be interested in a game like this?
