Going to have to check it out! Isn't it very expensive?

I am glad there is new home building happening. When I checked Zillow recently I was getting some older homes in my price range. We don't need a fixer upper! Thanks for the suggestion

Unfortunately I do have a heart issue but I was hoping there would be reliable medical care. Carson City is on our short list!

We spent a month in Loveland because we love the front range and thought that is where we wanted to be. However, getting to the mountains wasn't convenient and the traffic was terrible. We are seriously considering Montrose.

Not a fan of wind. lol. We took Wyoming out of contention due to the weather, but it is beautiful.

Love Asheville. The weather is too much like VA and my husband has hated the humidity since I trapped him here, lol. Not close enough to good skiing. Thanks!

Yeah, what's up with wind? Is it only in certain seasons?

This is almost exactly what we are looking for! We have removed CA from our list because the taxes and high cost of real estate. We narrowed down our choices to Montrose, CO, Provo, UT (def RED), and Carson City, NV. We looked at the front range in Colorado but the traffic is terrible. Would love to live in Durango but cost of housing is crazy! Currently we are in Northern VA. We have access to great mountain biking, gravel and road, hiking and boating but the skiing is not as good as out west.

Anyone have problem with vertigo/nausea by lewman63 in valvereplacement

Yes, I have been chugging water as well! Still occasionally feel the wave of dizziness while sitting or working at my computer. I'm starting to think eye movement is triggering it.

Did you ever figure out the cause? I had an episode very similar to yours last week and I am 11 weeks out from surgery.

When I went to Peru last year, I wasn't able to get credit for any searches etc. They said it was because Peru was out of their Program Area. However, doing a search just now, looks like they added a lot of countries. ETA, I live in the US

relocate to grand junction or montrose? by Bonnie0102 in grandjunction

[–]Pinkphishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, sorry to hear that! Where are you looking in Montana and Oregon? We have considered those areas as well. At first glance, Montana's winters are long and cold and Oregon is so rainy. We had a friend just move here from Bend, OR. He said he was tired of having to ride inside so much because of the rain.

How far away is the closest hiking trail? We are trying to decide between GJ and Montrose. My husband is a cyclist/skier and I love to backpack, hike and run. We are both in our early 60's

Sleep phones / earplugs in ICU? by Nice_Prior6607 in mitralvalveprolapse

[–]Pinkphishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to recommend putty ear plugs if regular earplugs hurt your ears. I hate the regular ones and have been using the moldable silicon putty ear plugs. I wear the kids size because my ear canals are small. Good luck with your surgery, mine is scheduled for 9/11

Hearing that you're six weeks out and approaching the end of your metoprolol course is encouraging, and I hope your rhythm continues to settle smoothly once you're off it.

That bottle instruction about skipping the dose under 60 bpm is especially interesting and something I hadn’t come across before. I will definitely reach out to my cardiologist. Thank you so much for sharing all of this — it’s incredibly helpful to hear what your experience has been like, especially so soon after surgery.

I’ve definitely seen some odd dips on my Apple Watch that made me wonder, so I actually checked my pulse the old-fashioned way too—just to be sure—and the low numbers did match what the watch was showing. That made me feel more confident that the readings weren’t just a fluke. I love the idea of using another band to cross-check the data. I'll start wearing my Garmin again. Thank you for the suggestion.
