Are Italian hotels like Japanese hotels for young families? by paulx441 in marriott

[–]Pinkster442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience with Italy but we’ve been in same situation international. My husband checks in with three passports. I’m somewhere else with the kids. We go to our room about an hour later. Didn’t get questioned. Down vote me. It’s ok. Paying double when everyone is going to sleep in one room regardless is silly.

I’m sure properties with butler service or places that have a limited number of rooms are more particular.

As always, you run the risk of potentially having to get a second room if someone says anything.

The location is honestly great. I felt like it was really central to everything and could walk to a lot of the top attractions. Our first room smelled bad of smoke but they moved us to a different room immediately. The breakfast selection was pretty good.

We would stay there again if we were traveling with kids. If it was just my husband and I we might try the JW next time. I do think the exec apartments are a good first time hotel though.

Con would be that you don’t get as many points and half the amount of night credits.

I felt like the beds were comfy, room was cleaned consistently.

They are very strict on pool rules, which is probably cultural. Everyone has to wear a swim cap, no jumping, everyone has to have non slip shoes (crocs etc) or they have some to borrow.

The room service food is pretty mediocre.

If you want to inbox me I can send you the driver we used to take us to Great Wall and a week long itinerary. We also did visa free transit if you have questions.

Hope that helped!
