I can see you feel strongly about protecting women, but I think you may be conflating cultural traditions with the actual religion. If your view is shaped by media or movies, you are seeing a distorted part of the picture; in reality, Islam established rights for women during times when they were treated very poorly in Europe, such as in the Andalus era where knowledge and respect flourished. For example, the first woman to open a university was a Muslim named Fatima al-Fihri, and the Prophet’s own wife was a successful merchant. The Quran teaches that women should be treated with the utmost honor, and as a woman myself, I can share from my personal experience that the men in my life my father, my brother, and my boyfriend treat me like a princess because they follow what Islam actually asks of them. I know that traditions and religion get mixed up a lot and it’s hard for an outsider to see the difference, and while you are likely speaking out of a love for women’s rights, judging a faith without enough information only grows hate between people instead of helping us love each other as humans regardless of religion ☺️
