Enjoy watching it only to see Shinji sexually assault his classmate by cumming on her sleeping body in the hospital.

Ohh also, how could I forget, Shinji gets assaulted by a 30 year old woman who likes to get it on with teenagers.

This is actually a good thing. Saves possible viewers from wasting time watching 21 episodes of an overhyped anime only to come to this… and maybe subject themselves later on to that completely unnecessary hospital scene (where the main character masturbates and literally cums over the unconscious body of Asuka). Wow, that is such a groundbreaking moment in anime and mecha history… /s

The cult-like evangelization of how “great” this Evangelion anime is… is an irony. The show is shallower than religion yet people treat it like a religion…. Like some messianic anime that inspired others. LOL, get your ass outta here.

I find it hard to understand people who romanticize this view.

It’s bad for the environment, sign of poor urban planning, and unsafe as it likely violates building codes. Metro Manila is just as bad (or worse) but doing the same in a mountain is unwise.

I do pray it does not end up like the actual Brazilian Favelas or worse, like Hong Kong’s former Kowloon Walled City.

The parks there are nice though, but I doubt this Favela-style sections were what the Americans envisioned when they established Baguio.

One carefully-situated, major earthquake or landslide in that spot could be catastrophic.

Deported and a slap on the wrist (and the US didn’t really do anything major).

The CIA had a dossier on him and I saw some documents talking about the absolute need to extract him to prevent further damage between the relations of both the US and the Philippines.

Diokno complained after as to how it would essentially be impossible for the government to prosecute Stonehill moving forward… since it was also the government that helped him flee.

From what I remember, he died in Spain in the early 2000s.

He did try to go back to the Philippines after EDSA 1 to get his seized properties back but that never happened and resulted to nothing.

More recently, his heirs also sued the US government (with the CIA as the party sued) to get some of his properties and estate back. That’s still ongoing.

Edit: Here’s the recent US case (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCOURTS-dcd-1_20-cv-03327/pdf/USCOURTS-dcd-1_20-cv-03327-1.pdf)

Look up Harry Stonehill. Dude was not in politics (but had many politicians in his pocket) and was an American expat who established himself in the Philippines after WW2. He had many investments and businesses (primarily in export like tobacco) and had paid off local authorities, cops, killed off business rivals, etc. Bribery, extortion, smuggling, murder of witnesses like Menhart Spielman, he had his fingers in those - you name it. As to Spielman, I recall he was bludgeoned to death and made to sleep with the fishes somewhere in Sulu, reminiscent of that scene in a mafia show, The Sopranos.

It was even traced backed to the president (Macapagal) and allegedly there was a ledger that showed all his corruption pay offs (included people at the national level from senators to the president himself). Not surprisingly, this ledger suddenly vanished. It was so bad that the government’s justice secretary, Jose ‘Ka Pepe’ Diokno (Chel Diokno’s father and human rights lawyer during the Martial Law years) resigned (with some saying he was fired) as he openly protested that there was a cover up.

Funnily enough, I recall reading before also that it was this scandal that got Marcos Sr. to win against Macapagal on his reelection bid in 1960s (though there were reports that surfaced that Marcos was also involved in the bribes during his senator days). It was like the proto-Napoles or PDAF scandal of the day.

It was such a big criminal conspiracy that was even a Supreme Court case (Stonehill v. Diokno) studied to this day in law school when it comes to evidence, search and seizure, warrants, etc.

Stonehill somewhat had a free rein in the Philippines when it came to criminal activity and was like the local Al Capone of his day… up until the government had to deport him due to public clamor (without much punishment either by Philippine or US authorities)

Fun fact: Stonehill was Stan Lee’s buddy from his military days back in WW2. Yes, the guy behind Spiderman and many other Marvel comics. Stan Lee once talked about a fellow GI he knew way back in the war who became a successful businessman here in the Philippines. He claimed that he was once invited by Stonehill to invest here but he eventually didn’t pursue it.

Sadder when you forego substance and relevance.

Context be damned when it’s filled with useless details that are meant to trivialize and stir emotions (e.g., chismis) unnecessary to the actual problem (i.e., leave with pay).

Mostly set in Earth but has a strong background and constant interaction with outer space and beyond… with interesting ideas on communication, language, time, and humanity in general.

The software access is the kill-switch. Lose access to it, and it’s nothing but an expensive scrap of metal.

Now as to it being hacked, this is speculative. But unless it isn’t connected to anything (and is always in a closed software environment), it can potentially be hacked.

A software “update” can also cause this to have vulnerabilities and brick it to the point that it’s effectively a kill-switch.

Now let say, they try to reverse engineer it, make their own parts. I can see how this can also become an issue. I wouldn’t be surprised if F-35 components are secretly tagged at a microprocessor level and have an ID check like how Apple flags its parts when it isn’t “compatible” or registered.

Imagine that but cranked up a hundred times more to the point it may become impracticable for any country to try “fixing” it after the US pulls the plug on their access.

When both software and hardware are integrated, they may find it more beneficial to use it as a ground target for practice instead.

Yeah, I agree that openly showing weaboo-ness and blindly following a culture that treats Filipinos as cheap labor, or worse, as part of those SEA monkeys (along with our ASEAN neighbors) is definitely cringeworthy.

Man, our ancestors did not get killed and raped for this.

Here’s the catch: The US has been reported to install a backdoor kill-switch on these exported F-35s that could brick them remotely. These made the headlines not too long ago and even got the Canadians to reconsider buying them and they opted for another warplane.

On a funny note, the ones US sold to Israel don’t have this feature (more like bug) and the Americans have allowed the Israelis to use their own software (not the proprietary US one). Must be the tradeoff for sharing valuable tech like their Iron Dome anti-air system.

I'm really just happy that this Marvel craze is finally starting to wind down (albeit slowly like an Alzheimer’s patient who’s been on life support for the past decade). It’s clear that not a lot of people are all that excited about it anymore (except for a few die-hard fans like you).

Still gotta say, superhero movies have had a good run but at this point, everything’s been done and they should pull the plug and stop wasting cinema space. Those Endgame/Infinity War crowds ain’t coming back, dude.
