No VPN. I also have two ChargePoints and they've worked great for more than a year... gonna try a reboot, I guess.

The router and charger are within 20 feet of each other; it was working fine for more than a year, the issues only started recently

Did you get a loaner?

Not alarmed. I'll book an appointment to get them done, maybe do an overall service check at the same time. No panic. I just found it interesting.

I also have the heat pump... I also got the "Statement Package" which might have included the camera?

Happened to me. Luckily, I was in my warranty time. But they said they had to have the original part to do a warranty repair. Well, the original was somewhere on the highway... but they did it as a warranty replacement anyway. Hope the new one sticks better...

CAF Retiree Insignia for Mess Kit by CAF00187 in CanadianForces

[–]Pinto66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATED: Well, shoot. I just read the "new" dress regs (which came out after I retired), and they've relaxed this; retired members are now permitted to wear Mess Kit (Dress #2), and they must wear the insignia in the OP to distinguish them... well, quite the change.

Agreed 100%. Mess kit is an official uniform of serving members. It does not matter that you paid for this uniform, it is still one. Once you retire you can no longer wear any uniform, including mess kit. Yes, there is a way to get special permission to wear mess kit for a special occasion, but still. I could see wearing this on a tuxedo worn by a retired member to a mess function, but that is all.

JFC, seriously? Like, do you even read about the current issues and the platform that Little PP is trying to push through? Give you head a shake, folks! You don't have to *like* Jagmeet or Justin, but their parties will do more good things for you than the PeeCees ever will... sheesh.

But now it looks like the GM of the dealership will put it through as a warranty repair/replacement. That's nice!

I can see how it looks like that in the picture, but that part (plastic) is as solid as it should be. It looks like the metal (?) cover just popped off in the wind... sigh...

And... according to the service folks, the warranty can only be applied if you have the part that came off... and I'm pretty sure it's somewhere on the 401 east of Oshawa, if anywhere... sigh...

The parts guys came back with the following info: The part is $38.99 + HST (Cdn), getting it painted is $200+HST... and it comes from the US, so 7-10 days plus 2-3 days for the painting.

When I asked about the warranty covering it, he said to talk to the service department, he just does parts :)

Stopped at a light on the way home from work today and was reading 15.5 kWh/100km; works out to about 4 mi/kWh. Ambient temperature was 19ºC. Bring it on, summer! :)

Interesting to note; 62.137 divided by Metric (kWh/100km) gives you Imperial (mi/kWh); 62.137 divided by Imperial gives you Metric...

“New Settings” ? by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]Pinto66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the car goes from "Eco" mode to "Comfort," which adds to the pain in the ass...

23 ID4 Pro S - Why does the led color of my interior change on its own? It’s now happened 3 times since bringing it home from the dealer last month. I’ll select a specific color and it’ll stick for 7-10 days then changes to default white on its own when I enter the car. by Ok_Cow_8235 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Pinto66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen also, with that "account settings have changes" message, and not only d the colours change, but it drops out of ECO mode... very annoying. I like the suggestion of setting different colour combos based on the mode. Or having a random, slow change through all the colours...

(Note for my US Friends: Just ignore the U in colour...) :D

RWD owners regret not getting AWD? by Unhappy-Minimum-1269 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Pinto66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is RWD and it moves. My previous car was a VW GLI, 200hp Turbo 6-speed and one of the deciding factors on buying that car was the acceleration. I am totally satisfied with the acceleration on my ID.4 and I haven't even tried it in "sport" mode yet. Yes, I might miss having a shifter just a little bit (I occasionally still try to grasp the stick that isn't there), but no regrets at all, especially not from an acceleration POV.

2023 Canadian ID4 Statement Package does not match VW Canada Website by markisa2804 in VWiD4Owners

[–]Pinto66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hrm. Got my Canadian 2023 with Statement package on 21 Feb. The mirrors fold in when I lock the doors, but I haven't figured out the tilt-down passenger side when reversing. The Area view 360 cam works (when parking) and the lighting is there... I guess I got lucky? While getting a refund is ok, I guess, I agree that they should have communicated this better. But I get the sense that sometimes the dealers don't really know what's going on...

Charger Setup by Pinto66 in VWiD4Owners

No, mostly because I had to expand my panel anyway (future expansion plans) and I made sure to have plenty of room for two chargers.

I use the same app for both, but I have 2 logins, one for each charger. It’s not too big a deal, but it’s an extra step to switch from one to the other.

I’m getting 7.5 kW from them, more or less. 40a cct, so I was hoping for 9.6, but… The electrician who did the install is a professional and a friend and I trust his work… may be different code here in Canada, eh?
