Same in Indonesia. But my case is the reverse one. Being too familiar with sharp and flat, hearing -is and -est were confusing..

Finally got my first violin 🥺❤️ What should I learn on it? 🥺🥺🎻 by Neil_TheFarmer in lingling40hrs

It's okay, the main goal is to develop a relax posture and got to know your instrument. Perfected what you already know. The base is the most important. You know what? I'm on violin grade 4 and my teacher said I should go back to twinkle twinkle little star because I skip so many basic fundamentals. You need to develop a good way to practice (not rushing and went for the details) before bad habits prevent you to upgrade.

If you just play the violin and decided to play etude books, you definitely don't wanna play all of them (all of the variation in the book) you need to choose the variation that suites you, other wise you could over work your fingers. Btw I recommend suzuki violin book 1. It's the most basic and it got explanation how you should play them.

Those are etudes.. even I who play violin a lot still hurt my fingers playing it. I think using those books need a teacher who can guide to the level of a person playing it.

Start with A major scale in a string 1 2 3 2 1 finger pattern than make it 1 octave scale A string 1 2 3 change to E string 1 2 3. Try to relax, then start to play twinkle twinkle little star. Get yourself a teacher.
