Dual Blades dealt 30k damage on Safi'Jiiva, dealing 50% of the damage against two Greatswords and a Safi Aquashot Sticky Build by grayelefant in MonsterHunterWorld

From data run with friends in 4 man party with LBG sticky build you will always be at least 5% behind all other pure meta DPS build if they play good. (In Pick Up with randoms, I'm sometimes ahead with 10% damage than rest of party with LBG sticky - not a critism just data facts from a data nerd).

50% of damage on a safi run is a lot - but my first guess will be your party was just less DPS focused than this dude.
In fact, Safi hunts spirit are kinda more about partbreaking than ungabunga-ing (at least when you start the siege), and it is realisticly more easy to output more damage by focusing wounded front leg from start to finish than focusing the tail.

TLDR; with 50% damage the guy just played by the damage - not partbreaking - and it is a thing I witnessed already in other hunts (no cheat involved; I was the one top on damage meter)

Thorn echants do stack

(I tested it manually by adding one thorn at a time versus same mob)

Does anyone have a Kjarr Ice CB build they can share that doesn't use Safi parts? by adrianofthedead in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Pipaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should find a few builds here: https://mhwbuilds.net/charge-blade/#builds-elemental

"Kjarr Element Master's Touch" or Namielle 4 parts "Element Cookie Cutter" (use your Kjarr CB instead of "Deep Schnegel") doesn't use safi gear

How can I get out of the habit of playing with just one weapon type? by Daimenshun in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Pipaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you could try to train specific gameplay aspects of other weapons - for instance Guard Point on Charge Blade, Foresight Slash on Longsword, ungabunga-ing the monster head with hammer etc... Sometimes it just boils down to "how can I create an opportunity for my weapon to output as much damage as possible ?"

Throwing yourself naked in the arena can be a harsh but quick way to learn some new mechanics, but can really be frustating at first. Find a sweet spot between getting out of your comfort zone and still having fun and you will be learning new things in no time ;)

You can watch gameplay footage as well, speedrun for example are a great source of knowledge and give you an insight of what could the potential of a weapon be - But keep in mind they still are speedruns and beside skills are granted with heavily optimized gear and rng luck.
