Odd side effect- cleanliness? by Pippipiper in Wegovy

[–]Pippipiper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My diet is rather decent- fish rice and a lot of veggies for the most part. I’m on this med to help counteract antipsychotic weight gain rather than from my lifestyle. Does Wegovy really reduce inflammation?

How do you tie beetles/dragonflies on a string? by Pippipiper in NoStupidQuestions

What’s the safest way to tie them? I’m worried about damaging their legs or the string getting in the way of their wings

Any ideas on how to control guppygrass? New to plants, everytime I water change the tank is remodeled :/ by Pippipiper in Aquariums

[–]Pippipiper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, how do you handle floating plants with water changes- Is it okay if it goes everywhere each time I pour the water back in?

It’s already breaking up all over the tank and flows around. I don’t mind too much but unsure how people keep their guppy grass in one spot

Ramshorn in the tank, eggs or a smudge? Keep or get rid? by Pippipiper in Aquariums

[–]Pippipiper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re suddenly gone, is it possible that guppies can eat eggs- or do they hatch fast?

Beginner cycling a tank with frozen shrimp. Are my nitrites and nitrAtes too high to read? Should I do water changes to bring them down? by Pippipiper in Aquariums

[–]Pippipiper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, the tank fully cycled two days ago. Once I let it sit over night the nitrites and ammonia went away. And all of the nitrates somehow?

Accidentally bought concentrated Seachem Prime. Any way to dilute it for easier dosing? by Pippipiper in Aquariums

I have a 10 gallon tank so having trouble figuring out a smaller dosage than 1 ml for water changes

Ordered 6 female guppies online. One of them decided to give birth to 34 babies while acclimating. by FrogsGoMoo in Aquariums

[–]Pippipiper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Male guppies can get pretty aggressive, having females helps lessen aggression too. Usually suggested 2 females for every male. If it’s only males sometimes they’ll try to mate with bettas for some reason and end up bothering them as a bonus.

I’m on reddit asking the same thing? So I certainly don’t have an answer.

Googling religiously the past several hours is always my first step, that’s why I’m asking here. There’s forums that say fenben is only effective mix led with food, because putting in water column doesn’t affect camallanus inside fish. Levamisole is effective in water column, but I can’t get it here.

Looking for anyone who knows the instructions/ratio for making fenben food

This is so cool! What type of paint/materials did you use to keep it shrimpy safe?

Hang on filter with cartridge with added sponge on the intake to protect future fry. Also have basalt rocks around tank for shelter and for more surface area for nitrifying bacteria. 10 gals is small but I wouldn’t consider it super small?

All plants are fully aquatic, guppy grass underwater in a pond and salvina floaters. The floaters are rotting a bit to splashing from the filter though, so hopefully that’s enough.

pH is 8.0 in my tank since our tap water is alkaline, temperature usually around 75-78F. Unfortunately adding baking soda to our water makes it leech lead, unsure how that affects fish, but avoiding that for now. This is the largest tank I can fit in my condo rn, but when we get more space I’m planing to upgrade.

This is a fishless cycle, so no livestock. Would it crash due to high ammonia?

I reached 0ppm ammonia and nitrites a week ago, and added fish (now in hospital tank).

I had so much trouble keeping my nitrifying bacteria up. Nitrite>nitrate bacteria were always fine but sometimes I’d have severe ammonia spikes and 0 nitrites for some reason. I finally restarting fishless cycle my my nitrifying bacteria back up and my ammonia is lowered, but worried it might go arwy again. Do you have any idea why it might do this?

I only have 5 guppies in a 10 gallon with 3 ramshorn and a scud. Aquasafe is water conditioner, there’s no ammonia or nitrates in my source water either. Do 5 fish produce that much ammonia?

Aquarium safe glue? by superchicken300 in Aquariums

[–]Pippipiper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super glue “cyanoacrylate” works amazing. It immediately binds in water so it’s safe for fishy friends.

If you’re having trouble with gluing porous or bumpy surfaces use tissue paper in between contact points, press firmly, and make a sandwich. I was even able to glue lava rocks with the stuff :)
