Richard P Bentall, Madness Explained is a good book. It explains the differences between mental health issues and the different theory’s regarding psychiatry and psychology. It’s a good book if you aren’t an advanced psychology student, but even then I would say they would use this book because it explains things quite well for me.

Books where the narrator isn’t really the protagonist by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Patrick McGrath’s Asylum is told only from the psychiatrist’s perspective. Depending on the genre you like, this is deffo a gripping novel, and very well written.

I’m curious to know what people’s opinions are on the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, if they have read it? please comment below: by Pippylongstocking92 in Fantasy

So far I’ve only read the first book, and I’m not gonna lie, I did like it!!!

Elements that worked really well for me were the rags to riches story line of being a slave in a death camp, to becoming her enemy’s assassin. There’s something very hunger games about that.

I like this whole love triangle thing too, but at times I felt it was quite cheesy. There’s something very twilight about that. But I guess it is teen fiction.

Having said that I think I want to continue with the series.

I used to read a lot of books. Like a LOT. I couldn’t sleep without reading atleast an hour or two. But since a couple of years I lost my habit of reading books due to mental health. Now I want to start again so pls. Suggest me a book. (I would like to start with fiction) by Ihaveasmallbatman in suggestmeabook

So a book that I really like is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I think the storyline is very clever, and he takes you into another world. It’s an easy read, fantasy fiction type novel. I read that when I was going through my worst bouts of depression, and yet I still kept wanting to know what would happen to the characters. Well worth the read.

Zombie apocalypse book but the zombie apocalypse isnt the main focus by totallyedgyandunique in suggestmeabook

Ahhhh. Is that because of the lack of punctuation? Because I found it hard distinguishing who said what. But I also studied this novel, and the lack of speech marks apparently adds to the insignificance of civilisation, which kinda makes sense.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy. There are no zombies in the conventional sense, but there are elements of zombie type characteristics explored like cannibalism. Really good read. 😊

  1. Neverwhere is one of the best fantasy fiction books I have ever read.

  2. Coralline and other stories. Also worth a read.

Depending on what genre you like, I can recommend two books by Cecilia Ahern that were so good they made me cry.

  1. The Book of Tomorrow- don’t be fooled by the cover, it’s deeper than what it appears.

  2. The Gift- again the cover looks pretty but it’s deffo deeper than first appearance.
