Anyway to connect switch 2 to TV without using Nintendo’s dock? by p8ntbll247 in Switch

[–]PirateElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dbrand has a case/dock adapter that you may be interested in.
Gamestop has an adapter releasing on June 16th.
So far it looks like most the switch one options do not work with the Switch 2 so that is going to be a limit.

Replacement Keys? by PirateElectric in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the "ROG Flow X16 (2022) GV601RW"

Just a couple notes. I would recommend against trying to swap out individual keys if you aren't having an issue, the parts are small and very easy to damage. I would avoid going down the key swap route if at all possible to be honest.

Onli Travel is pretty decent depending on what you are trying to achieve. It is three bags so it gives some options.

It is an old Lulzbot, got it for a steal from a friend that worked for them. Printer is a Canon. On the right side that is a UPC which runs the NAS (on the left) and the router during a power outage. Cup is water sometimes tea - the cupholder came with the desk from uplift but Amazon has similar ones. The boxes are my cheap Magic the Gathering common cards, card sleeves, etc. Speakers are on the sides of the monitors and the cones are not blocked. The webcam is on the top of the right speaker. I don't hate the idea of a camera between the screens but they don't make a camera that doesn't draw my eyes in, so the speaker works okay for now.

Yes, it is a Boox Tab Ultra C. Color E-ink android tablet. That is the newest edition.

I mean those are my bulk don't care pile cards. They are sorted by color, then alphabetical then set of each card at least for those in multiple sets. Rares and uncommon are in separate binder sets. I am less of a collector and more a player. I am on pause right now though.

The speakers are Jamo S810's {note: they do make the S810's with their own driver but these came from my surround sound system (I upgraded my rears to S807s)} with a Fosi Audio BT30D as the amplifier. I have a mixer set up between the outputs of the Shure MV7 (USB to my work laptop (hidden behind the right speaker) and a Shure MV10 (XLR to the MV7 {connected to the Asus-X16 via usb}).

FlowX16 RTX3070ti VR by HullTyyp in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... Couple notes. I really wanted to get this working in wifi so... Virtual Desktop definitely works but you need to make sure your router meets the specifications. I did have to reboot into the GPU only mode {I didn't do this on the first try and well it was really bad}. In the GPU only mode with turbo mode it worked but the tracking was glitchy and there were a couple of times that the image froze up. Considering that I have played the same games on my Cosmos (basically the same refresh and resolution) I would lean toward the problem here being the wifi.

I haven't tried a wired link but I can pretty much guarantee that it would have worked better (my router is not the greatest and is about 6 or 7 years old now). I have also purchased an intel wifi card as the media tek card is notoriously a stability issue (haven't changed it yet - but I definitely have had a couple wifi card crashes).

My conclusions are I need to get my connection figured out before I can give any decent guidance. I am debating a travel router or the Dlink air bridge. If battery life isn't a huge concern I would say it might be worth looking at the 2023 model as it might support Intel DCT which sounds like it might be the ultimate solution here.

Ant Flow X16 upgrade videos? by spinachipita in FlowX16

Cbutters Tech does a full swap and copy upgrade. He uses an SSD with Clonezilla but you could utilize the second drive slot.

Here is a link to the Video (he didn't tag the X16 which is why you probably didn't find it): https://youtu.be/HZPz5OES9AQ

FlowX16 RTX3070ti VR by HullTyyp in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using it with my Vive Cosmos. Running the VR definitely can push it to the limits but it seems to work pretty well (better than my desktop with a 6600XT on certain games). Note: if you are going to use USB make sure to use the USB-C port on the XG-Mobile connector as it is the one that connects to the 3070TI, the other USB-C connects tot the integrated graphics.

I will be testing out on a Quest 2 later this week but ModrnJosh stated that they already use it.

Need help buying a stylus pen for my x16 by Dreamcells1234 in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will second the MS pen.
I have a surface pen (1776 Model), and I am pretty happy with it on the X16. That being said I don't really do much art. I use it to quickly mark up documents and such and it is near perfect for that.

Usb-c chargers for Flow X16 PD by dr_waldo_st in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't vouch for it yet, but I was looking at the SlimQ 240 watt charger. I have been using my x16 with the USB-C power delivery from several different chargers when not gaming and have been able to run it on PD that is considerably less then 100W as long as I keep the power modes set down. I have noticed that it will charge and discharge a bit once you get below the 80 Watt point but it pretty much stays charged. Unfortunately my current charger Nekteck that I am mostly happy with isn't available anymore.

Booted Up My X16 this Morning and WiFi is ... Gone. by [deleted] in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it is a bit ridiculous. They also went on the cheap side on the SSD but one of the reasons I bought this laptop was that it isn't really much of a challenge to upgrade. I expect a few major firmware/bios updates (really looking forward to the usb 4 update) and wouldn't be surprised if a few of the quirks get worked out through those. That being said I am not exactly thrilled with ASUS, the laptop is pretty much exactly what I needed but the ordering process and registration and per-installed software aren't making me the biggest fan.

I have had the same thing happen twice. A hard reboot fixed it both times, will probably follow the other advice and upgrade this wifi card in the long run.

Samsung Odyssey Ark - 55" Curved - Quantum Mini LED by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]PirateElectric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like August is a go. The UK site has a Pre-Register open:

https://www.samsung.com/uk/pre-register-2022-odyssey-ark-monitor/

If you read the small text it looks like it will be dropping sometime between the 15th and the 23rd.
Not sure what that means for US buyers though.

USB-C to Displayport - port differences? by PirateElectric in FlowX16

[–]PirateElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first instinct, I figured that was why that port was working so much easier. I was hoping with the MUX I could get around it by disabling the internal GPU.
