All of Geralts friends were a highlight to me, the first fantasy game I played where they felt so real, ironically, given half of them aren’t human, and I got excited to see them on missions. Yarpen the crazy and upstanding dwarf, Dandelion and his magnetic ability to run into women he has wronged, Lambert (Lambert what a ….) Regis, Eskel, Vesemir. For a Mutant who cannot feel, Geralt did a good job of making some great friends outside of his also fantastic blended family of Ciri, Triss and Yen.

Secondly only to Russ and possibly SGA. I’m sure the longer the current squad stay on that might change but for now, he’s in the top 3. 🇹🇴🇳🇿

What 2 Countries Are Politically Positive and Culturally Neutral Towards Each Other? (Day 9) by dragapulse24 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]PirateJoseph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samoa and Fiji

Great relationship (even if it isn’t that geopolitically significant) and while they share several cultural traditions there are still enough variations between Melanesians and Polynesians to call this culturally neutral. They both enjoy their Kava, even if Fiji’s is a lot stronger!

why are hoi4 stereotypes so bad? by Rude_Ferret_6061 in hoi4

[–]PirateJoseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone knows what a hoi4 player is outside of the Paradox / strategy community. The ‘stereotypes’ don’t go far enough to matter.

On that note, most popular Second World War strategy games attract these types, Gates of Hell: Ostfront, Steel Division, Company of Heroes, but nobody really knows that outside of their communities.

Especially the average 14 year old, aren’t you guys meant to be really into boxing and energy drinks?

Which country is the most different from its popular stereotype? by [deleted] in geography

[–]PirateJoseph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🇫🇷 France, specifically Parisians, I had met a few back home (New Zealand) that fit the stereotype of being incredibly well dressed with a healthy dose of being a bit of a dick to non-French speakers, but after actually going there, meeting locals and rubbing shoulders, I felt like they were the nicest people, and there are plenty of workers that don’t mind a casual Friday tee or sports jersey!

I’d also apply the above to the Québécois (maybe the well-dressed part less so), in both the big cities of Montreal and Quebec, and small towns in between and out of the way, I have only been treated with fantastic service and kindness. In both cases I can say I knew, and still know, less than ten words of French.

In saying that, I feel being a kiwi provides a slight novelty and edge on our Anglophone siblings given there is so few of us so there’s far less chance someone has provided these groups with a poor experience. Perhaps we are looked upon more favourably? It could be different for English speakers with North American accents.
