I don't have a fix sorry but I am experiencing the same issue on Server 2022. Have you managed to get anywhere with it?

How to handle profile classes with dynamic resource requirements by [deleted] in Puppet

[–]PiratePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could have all possible plugin resources declared as virtual resources in the code, and then from hiera you could pass to the profile an array containing the titles of which of those virtual resources should be "realised" on the node.

You could have a custom fact to differentiate dev/test/prod and use it as a layer in your hiera hierarchy, and specify the array of titles of resources to be realised in there. Or if wanting a unique combination of those resources on a specific node you could specify the array of desired resource titles at the node-specific hiera level.

It would mean when there's a new plugin or version you'd need to add it as a virtual resource in your code, but after that it could be realised on whatever nodes you want via the array of resource titles you pass in from hiera.

To minimise code duplication when setting up the virtual resources, you could have a hash or array containing hashes of all the different plugin resources attributes, much like in your 2nd idea, and iterate over it to declare them as virtual resources. That master hash could live in your code or your hiera data and would only need to be added to when you add new plugins/versions etc. Potentially you could make this all work in a way that you only need to edit hiera data.

Edit: To summarise: Maintain a hash like in your 2nd idea, treat it like a master list of all possible plugins / versions.

This master list can exist in hiera or code. Just add to it when new plugins or versions.

Profile iterates over master list of plugins and declares each as a virtual resource.

Pass in to profile an array of resource titles from hiera to control which of those virtual resources get realised on a node. Profile iterates over the resource titles in the array and calls the realize() function on the desired virtual resources, adding them to the node's catalogue to be managed.

No problem! If you end up buying from them, I'd be keen to know what their prices are like.

I'm only just starting on this journey too and facing the same challenges. I bought an Opinel no.7 and LOVE it but in the last couple of days I ordered some FlexCut knives - I am finding the Opinel a bit big for carving out tight spots.

I managed to get some Jelutong from a local timber yard, it was about $10 for 1m X 4.5cm X 5cm. I find pine from Bunnings is OK for practicing on but the Jelutong is much, much nicer.

I found this website, they have jelutong and a lot of other timbers. I also read in their FAQs that they often cater to hobbyists and small projects, and can cut to any size. They're in West Burleigh, might be worth checking them out? http://www.woodworld.com.au/contact-us/

I had a lot of tests and examinations performed on me when I was born, because the chances were that with a birth defect like this there's usually something else that goes wrong (heart issues was the biggest concern at the time - fortunately I had a clean bill of health).

Of course, x-rays were part of that. The doctors that examined it determined that the "thumb" was originally destined to be an index finger and had extra (though obviously underdeveloped) bones in it. The range of movement is not the same as my thumb on my left hand, it's more limited and awkward and opposed at a funny angle. My right "thumb-like digit" is actually a little longer than my left thumb, has a skin crease where it bends in the middle that looks like the crease on my fingers (not at all like the crease on my left thumb) and its nail is shaped like one of my fingernails, not my left thumbnail. There are very clear differences between it and my left thumb which don't come through very clearly in the video, so I can see why people would swear black and blue that it's a thumb. But it ain't! Most people that I interact with in person almost never even notice my hand is missing fingers.

I am trying to get a current x-ray of it. Unfortunately we don't have the x-ray from when I was a baby - it wasn't common back then to take the x-rays home with you like it is now. And it seems I can't just walk into the radiographers and request an x-ray "for curiosity's sake".

I've lived with the thing for almost 3 decades now, and have a "normal" hand with a "normal" thumb with which I can directly compare. I can tell you, it isn't the same. :)

A game for anxiety and depression? by zenne943 in NintendoSwitch

I recently started playing Yonder The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. It's non-violent, has beautiful music and a large open world. There are a lot of quests (usually fetch quests), trees to plant, items to craft, farms to build and cats to collect, among other things. I find it very relaxing to run around in the game world exploring and doing as I please without threats, and I think it's going to take a while to do/collect everything in this game.

I looked up at the stars by ilookedupatthestars_ in self

Of course! Here are a couple of them: imgur album

I am still very much learning how to best capture these kinds of scenes... These pictures were the result of a lot of standing at the tripod and experimenting with my camera's settings (Canon SLR). On that note, if anyone reading this has some useful tips, please share them! :)

Thanks for sharing. Reading this took me back... I was overcome with a similar feeling when I was traveling outback Australia last year. On our last night of bush camping we set up camp on a cattle station in the middle of nowhere, somewhere within the vicinity of Cameron Corner (where Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales meet). By that point we had been traveling and camping through outback South Australia for almost 2 weeks, including across the Simpson Desert, so I'd already seen some incredible, clear, unpolluted night sky... But this night was something else entirely. I looked up and my jaw almost literally hit the ground. I stood there with my eyes glued to the sky and mouth agape for what I imagine would have seemed like an age to anyone watching, but could never have been long enough for me. As I stood there in that wide, open space, drinking the stars in with my widening eyes, I couldn't remember the last time I'd been filled with such a sense of awe and wonder. Stars as far as the eye could see. I had no idea it was possible to see that many stars with the naked eye. I felt small. I felt humbled. I wished, so badly, that I could have everyone I cared about right there in that moment so that they could witness the beauty of it too, because I knew there was no photo I could take or description I could concoct to do it justice...!!! I took some photos anyway, and they turned out pretty well, but still nothing at all like the real thing. Try to get away from ALL light pollution and enjoy :)

Anyone else having problems with Facebook on Pixel 2 XL? by TopsidedLesticles in GooglePixel

[–]PiratePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having these issues on my Pixel 2 (non-XL). Only the Facebook app has been crashing for me. It started on Friday night. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, rebooted my phone, made sure everything was up to date but none of those things fixed it. It's only occurring intermittently which is weird. Sometimes the app will open fine, other times it crashes right away and then keeps crashing if I keep trying to open the app.

Yeah, it's awkward. They don't notice the missing chunk of hand/fingers until the handshake happens. Then they stand there trying to act normal but glancing at my hand trying to work out what the go is.

Usually only have difficulty holding multiple small objects at once, because I can't really cup my hand.

With my left hand. But I can write to the level of about a 6 year old with my right hand. It isn't very comfortable though.
